Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
Great recipe! I did double the filling just because we like lots of cinnamon-buttery taste. As for the negative reviews, people you can't expect to not follow the recipe and get good results. Try reading the recipe and following the steps before you blame the recipe. Most of the time unles it is a poorly written recipe it is the cook who is to blame. I think you can use different flavors of pudding and still get great results, I have used cheesecake flavor pudding and plan to try butterscotch next.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2007
While these are not as airy and light as Krispy Kreme ( I think they may use potato flour in theirs) these are still very good homemade donuts and fun to make with kids. My 5 yr old sonand 15 yr old daughter enjoyed dipping these in chocolate glaze and adding sprinkles on top. I made the dough the night before and it rose in the fridge perfectly. I then rolled out the dough, cut the donuts and let them rise about 30 mins before deep frying them. These tasted good but I give them 5 stars for the fun the kids have making them.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: May 30, 2007
I have made so many cakes I have lost count and this is the ONLY frosting recipe I use, people love it. The heavy cream makes a big difference. I only use Crisco, not half butter...........by using ONLY shortening you will achieve more of a bakery type frosting.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
This crust was awesome....but I did let it "proof" before baking and I think it made a difference.I have made it both ways and definately the rising helps. I also used bread flour and my husband , who managed a Papa John's while in college, hand tossed the crust.....it turned out great. Thanks!

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
I salted the potatoes before deep frying them and instead of putting them in the oven we just microwave until the cheese melts. I used REAL bacon bits and green onions.....with a couple of changes, these were great !

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: May 6, 2007
I used this on my sister's wedding cake and it was perfect. There was not ONE slice of wedding cake left from a 3 tier cake, and none got thrown out. For those who complain of the Crisco, look for a recipe using butter. This is BAKERY type frosting and shortening is what bakery frosting is made from. YOu can order a special shortening called Sweetex online and use it in place of Crisco in this recipe. This frosting is NEVER greasy when I make it and I make LOTS of cakes, by request. Thanks Rick for making my cakes taste SO great!

Hamburger Soup II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
I give this 3 stars because I made so many changes. I used a can of tomato juice instead of thesoup and added MUCH more ground beef. I also added extra veggies, extra potatoes and some okra. VERY good and will warm you up on a cold day.

Colleen's Potato Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I usually only take time to rate a recipe if I was impressed with the results, and these rolls were very impressive. I made them for Christmas dinner and everyone LOVED these little gems. They were light and fluffy and fantastic with real butter. It was also extremely time saving making these overnight. I made the dough Christmas Eve and the next morning had perfectly risen dough ready to go. Perfect! Thanks SO much, these will be our new dinner roll.

Brownstone Front Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
Ok, as for the negative reviews.......if you can't use a cndy themometer, stick to using canned frosting. It isn't always the recipe at fault.

Bread Sticks

couple of things......the recipe calls for refrigerated dough, it should read frozen....there IS a difference. Also, too salty, cut back on that.

Emily's Excellent Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Not really sure why this is called "taco casserole" there is nothing "taco" about it really, it is more like a frito pie. Not anything you would serve company, but nice for a fast meal on a busy week night.

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I give this 5 stars based on everyone that has ate this fudge has loved it. I personally do not like PB fudge so I have not even tried it. I do know that is has a soft texture, even after it has set up a few hours or even over nights, so this is not a firm fudge. My daughter ate 4 pcs of this fudge and give all of the sugar in it, I have no idea how she ( a 14 yr old) ate so much without getting sick. My 5 yr old son liked it, my hubby and everyone I gave it to. So, even though I personally can't vouch the taste, everyone else sure has :)

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Really good fudge, however I add my marshmallow fluff AFTER I boil the butter, sugar and evap milk for 4-5 mins. I took a cookie/candy platter to work for sharing with co workers and everyone asked for the recipe and some begged me to make more :)

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
First, I wanted to say thanks for making me laugh Jen G. about saying thankfully I am fat and I like fattening things, that was so funny and I totally know what ya mean :) Now to rate these cookies.......they are awesome! My kids and hubby LOVED them, but they ARE rich, so next time I will make smaller cookies and use a little less filling in them. These are great though, give them a try you won't regret it.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
This recipe is pretty much the same one on the bag of white chocolate chips. Pretty good cookies, I think white chocolate chunks work better, and more nuts.

These are ok, but more like a PB sugar cookie. They didn't go over well in my house so I probably wont make these again.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
There is no other bread.......this one is the BEST hands down. Perfect taste, texture, my kids and hubby love it. I make it often as a request for a gift. Last year I was asked to make 300 mini loaves of this bread to give out at our church Live Nativity scene. This bread is perfection, especially hot from the oven with real butter. As for the comments about the sugar......this recipe makes TWO loaves so 1/3 cup sugar PER loaf is about right.
