About this Cook
Howdy, my name is Anita obviously, and my mother passed when I was small, I learned to cook from watching her cook, and my older sisters have taught me her methods as well. She was a wonderful cook. All that downhome, fresh cookin', from scratch, made me wanna cook as well. What I couldn't remember from childhood, my sisters taught me. The food was exactly right! So I thought I would share the recipes with ya'll, u deserve it! ENJOY!!!
My favorite things to cook
Fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes, milk gravy, (pan gravy) and corn on the cob, for sure!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Down home! I learned that everything should be made from scratch, but I sure, know about those days, when the kids are hungry NOW and I dont have an hour or so to prepair supper. I've taken all of that, plus the recipes, and made fabulous meals, and I'd love to share them with you.
My cooking triumphs
Holy Pete, a pie crust, I have tried forever to make the best pie crust with "FABULOUSOSITY"! No flakey, NO LUCK but I finally figured out the proper method. That was a triumph! haha
My cooking tragedies
ummm messed up a few pie crusts in my time, but the craziest thing, I can't "bake" a chicken, to save my life. haha. Dry as the Sahara and, Dull as cardboard. Those are my tragedies. But HERE, I will figure it out.... wish me luck...

Simple Artichoke Dip
I'd hoped no one had submitted this simle, spinach free, garlic clove free, pepper free recipe... it is very hard to find a recipe that is sooo delicious and sooo easy. I make it at least once a month (with a tad of garlic salt) and stick it to whatever is in my hand.... it goes with everything! Good job!

I'm not sure why everyone is using brown instead of reg. sugar, I only added 2-3 tbl. butter and simmered it about 45min.-1hr. for tenderness. This was an excellent dish. Thanks Anita G. from the whole family "even the mother-in-law)
