Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I made this twice for Christmas functions--once with additional cheddar cheese and once just as the recipe states. We preferred the original recipe. The spread with additional cheese was greasy and did not spread as smoothly. I did add some bread crumbs which made a nice crust. I baked mine in the oven to brown the crumbs. Everyone loved it.

Pumpkin Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I made this with fresh pumpkin. While it was good, no one wanted to eat it as a side dish. It was just too sweet. But then, we never serve candied sweet potatoes as a side either.

Pumpkin Maple Pie Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't really taste the maple syrup. That being said, however, my nephew announced the pie was the best dish Thanksgiving day, and that he was a true devotee and expert taster of pumpkin pies.

I've tried many crusts, this is my favorite. Easy to roll out and very flaky.

Southern Style Thanksgiving Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
These taste just like old fashioned country style green beans. We loved 'em. 4 pounds of beans filled my crockpot to the brim and served 15 with some leftovers--but then, we had a large collection of other dishes to choose from too. I made mine with bacon rather than a hamhock. Just before serving, I picked out the slimy pieces of bacon fat which had slow cooked. I fried a few strips of bacon, crumbled them and added the crumbles and fat to the beans. This boosted the flavor considerably.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Men seem to love this. I made it as a dip to take as a side dish to a chili cook-off. The men raved about it over and over. I've never seen grown men get so interested in a recipe. Great dish for parties.

Vanilla Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
We made this for a wedding that used black and white for the color scheme. The punch was OK, but not great. Too sweet for my taste.

Pumpkin Dip

Got rave reviews at a fall picnic. Buy lots of gingersnap cookies, though. One bag was not enough for our crowd.

Chili Rick's

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
I made this for a small group chili cookoff. It did not impress our group, although I thought it was very good. I ended up using a bit more than half of the BBQ sauce suggested.

Savory Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
These muffins had good texture, but lacked flavor. They might be tastier with cheese.

Amaretto

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
A bit too thin even after I boiled the syrup mixture, but the taste was very close to the real thing.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
We used the processed swiss cheese slices and added both bacon and sausage. It was the best casserole ever at our Christmas brunch.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
My son the cheesecake fanatic said this was the best I ever made. It did split, but he didn't mind. He is a purist who doesn't like fruit or chocolate added on top.

So easy and so good. I gave it as Christmas gifts and it was well received. We tried it with cream and it was delish.
