Grands!® Mini Chicken Pot Pies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
I made a few alterations. I tasted the mixture before stuffing and decided to add some all purpose seasoning. I also had 2 potatoes laying around so I chopped those, nuked them and threw em in. I used a whole can of Kirkland canned chicken and added a little milk. It didn't really need the milk in just thought it may be a little creamier in the end. Before I threw them in I topped with a little dash of seasoning again and will top with some cheese when the come out. Can't wait to try them!

Homemade Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2014
This was pretty good but I made some revisions. I didn't have salt less herb blend or Italian seasoning so I opted for salt, pepper, thyme, parsley flakes and 4 cloves of garlic. I also eyeballed about 2 cups of pre cut broccoli into the crock when putting everything else in. I let cook on high for 5 hours ish then added half and half. I'm not sure how much, I eyeballed it. Probablly 1.5c. I know that sounds like a lot but I'm going for a creamier soup. I then thickened it with some corn starch as well. Added a final dash of salt, pepper and thyme to tAste and let thicken for a half hour. I served hot with Parmesan cheese on top. Oh yeah. I also used 3 carrots and 1 onion. :) will be making again. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
I just wish this were a little creamier. I too thickened it with some corn starch, omitted the water, nixed the ham and used some garlic powder because I was in a hurry. I only added one onion, and I'm glad I did because when I came home my house smelled of it! I puréed a little bit of to to get the chowder consistency as well. I also used 2 cans of sweet corn and 1 cream corn. :) yum.....!

Creamed Peas and Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
I made as directed, but I used a can of peas without onions. I chopped up some fresh onion and sauted them in a little bacon fat then added them to the creamed pea mixture along with a little dill and kosher salt. Mmmmmm! The left overs were great on toast!

Corned Beef Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I am a huge cb fan and this was awesome. I used a can or hormel corned beef hash, half the sour cream and about 1/2 c of mayo. Mixed it, let it sit for an hour and spread it about an inch thick in a glass baking dish and baked until t was bubbly. I sprinkled some cheese on top after pulling it out of the oven. Mighty tasty! The only thing I would change next time is the amount of the onion soup mix. It was over powering and made the dip very salty, even right out of the fridge before putting in the oven. Otherwise, yuuummmyyyy!

Sweet Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
I sliced my tenderloin into 1inch rounds, wrapped it with turkey bacon (instead of pork) and used toothpicks to attach it. I only made 3 of these, approx .5 lb of pork loin since its just my husband and I. I doubled the sauce recipe except for the onion and added 3tbs total of brown sugar. I also decided to use it as a meranade instead of just baking the meat in the sauce. I made sure both sides of the meat was covered in the spices and onions while marinading in the fridge for about 6 hours. While the meat was baking I also basted the sauce over it every twenty min or so after flipping it each time. After being baked in the oven for about an hour on 350, it was SO tender and sweet tasting. The turkey bacon absorbed the sweetness of the sauce/meranade, I wasn't expecting that!
