Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
AMAZING!!! I didn't have cayenne so I used chili powder instead. This was better than any restaurant grilled shrimp I've ever had.

I didn't care for the the all shortening taste. Next time I will try with half butter.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I have made this several times and it always gets rave reviews!! I always add some chicken stock to the mixture before I bake so it doesn't dry out.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Fabulous! Made it for my sunday school class and everyone raved. I followed the recipe exactly. The only difference was that I used light sour cream (since that is what I had on hand) and I had to bake 10 min longer than what the recipe said. Will definitely make again!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
WOW! Some of the best BBQ I've ever had and I can't believe how easy it was! I used a 4.5 lb pork roast and cooked it on high for 6 hrs. Meat fell apart. Used Sweet Baby Ray BBQ sauce which is my favorite. Thank you for sharing this AMAZING recipe!

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
WOW! Absolutely delicious and easy! Few modifications: I used an egg/milk wash before coating with italian bread crumbs. Used butter and EVOO to saute the chicken. I don't like pimentos so instead I used a can of diced tomatoes (very well drained). Added minced garlic to the pan drippings before adding the broth. I made more of the sauce so there would be extra to spoon over the egg noodles. Once the dish was complete, I topped with some shredded mozzarella cheese. I also recommend using thin cut chicken breasts because they cook a lot quicker. I would highly recommend all of these modifications. DIVINE!!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
Absolutely delicious!! My alterations: Added 1 tsp vanilla to sour cream mixture. Used brown sugar (instead of white) for the crumb topping and added some cinnamon to the crumb topping mixture. Served hot with ice cream and whipped cream. Company raved over it! This is definitely a keeper!

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This had a great taste, but too "cakey" for me. I like my pound cake dense and this was far from it!

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
The flavor was kind of bland (maybe because I cut back on the sugar) and it was very dense. I also thought the gelatin made it taste a little strange.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
If I could, I would give this 10 stars!!! I've made these several times and each time they've been fabulous! The past couple of times I substituted coffee for the water and it really brings out the flavor of the chocolate. You must try it. MMMMMM... is right! Thanks for the great recipe!

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
I have made this cake three times now and it is FABULOUS!!! However, I did tweak a few things each time and now I think I've found the perfect white cake recipe! The almond flavor was a little too much for me so I cut it down to 1/2 tsp. I added 1/2 C. applesauce which makes it even more moist. Instead of beating the meringue into the batter I folded it in. And I baked the cakes (two 9 inch pans) for only 25 minutes and they came out perfectly (although I do understand that oven temps vary).

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
Very good recipe! I too added red wine (about 1/4 cup) and a couple tablespoons of sugar to the sauce. I didn't use a full tsp. of red pepper and it was still pretty spicy. I will definitely make again!
