Sweet-Sour Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
The dressing in this recipe is so good, I make it to use for all types of salads, not just pasta!

Crackers a la Yvette

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
These were really good! I used oyster crackers and red pepper powder as I didn't have any flakes.

Garlic Carrots

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
My family and I loved these carrots. I found that you need to use a bit more garlic than this called for, but is it worth it!! This is my favorite cooked carrot dish!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I have said it many times, roasting is the best way to have veggies, and this is no exception! My husband who does not like Brussels sprouts actually ate this! You can tweak the spices to your liking, or make it as written and you can't go wrong! Just measure your salt; roasting emphasizes the saltiness.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I absolutely LOVE roasted broccoli! If I am making a nice dinner, this is the only way I will make my broccoli. This is just so good and you can tweak it to your spice tastes! I do recommend watching how much salt you use, as roasting brings out the saltiness!

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
This was definitely different, but came out pretty good! I used chili without beans as I don't like beans, and added a little sour cream.

Roasting vegetables is the way to go! I am not a huge fan of asparagus, but this came out delish!

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
A friend's grandmother made this one year, and it was so good, I wanted the recipe. I never got it, so I searched and searched, and this was the closest recipe I could find and it is SO good! I have used both bagged cabbage mix and head cabbage, and both work great. The only change I do is use vegetarian ramen noodles, and I bake my almonds and sesame seeds to brown them.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I found this recipe when I was making tacos and realized I didn't have a seasoning packet. I omitted the red pepper flakes as I don't like too much spice, and this was great! I will never by store bought taco seasoning again!

Tortellini Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
I did not like the taste of the sauce. It was too garlicky and buttery, even though I halved the amount of butter. Cooking the tortellini in the broth was an interesting touch though.

Australian BBQ Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
A great change from the traditional meatballs that get served at parties. The sauce was very unique and had a nice little kick. I did not have any curry to add to the meatballs however, but I am not a curry fan, so that is probably for the best. I love the idea of baking them, rather than frying. And yes, they are better the next day reheated! Will definitely make again! Thanks for the recipe!

Apple Crunch Pie with Vanilla Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
I gave this recipe 3 stars for presentation and preparation, and 4 stars for taste. I had a similar experience as some other reviewers where my pie came out very soupy. And the vanilla sauce did not thicken for me at all, although that could have been due to not having a proper double boiler. I would probably make this again b/c I am a huge cinnamon fan, but I would lessen the amounts of a few ingredients, and forget the vanilla sauce altogether. Thanks for the recipe though!
