About this Cook
Cooking a gourmet meal for my wife or for my wife and company is one of my favorite ways to spend a Friday and Saturday night! Thankfully, my wonderful wife is willing to do the mess of dishes I leave behind!
My favorite things to cook
Italian, homemade pasta dishes, and BBQ- low and slow (225 F), on my smoker, over natural chunk charcoal and wood!
My favorite family cooking traditions
No real traditions, just that everything has always been homemade, and on my watch, will always continue to be so!
My cooking triumphs
Several homemade pasta dishes from Mario Batali's cookbook- Molto Italiano. The most notable, and my wife's favorites are: Cannelloni, Agnolotti, and Pansotti w/ Walnut Sauce. One of my favorites is pulled pork on the smoker.
My cooking tragedies
Pistachio pudding w/ peanut butter! What in the heck was I thinking?! Even the dog wouldn't eat it! My step-daughter still teases me about it to this very day!

Banana Banana Bread
This recipe is very good, but I gave it 3 stars because of the baking time. 60-65 minutes seemed too long, and I set the timer for less time. After about 50 minutes, I checked it, and it was WAY overdone! 60-65 min would have made toast! I'll try it again, and check after 40 min. This is a good recipe, except for the length of time to bake.

Warm Greek Pita Sandwiches With Turkey and Cucumber-Yogurt Sauce
I'm very picky about trying new recipes. Tonight, while browsing through recipes for leftover turkey- this one stood out. My instinct proved correct! It is amazingly good, simple enough, and a totally different way to use up that leftover turkey (Or chicken, for that matter)!
