Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2013
REALLY GOOD! I am out of most grocery items and my son is allergic to dairy, so I substituted oil for the first amount of margarine. And I used half almond milk, half water for the milk. I skipped the margarine in the sugar/cinnamon mixture and instead shook the muffins in a paper bag with some cinnamon sugar I had on hand. They were excellent! I'm sure they taste even better with milk and margarine/butter, and I am looking forward to trying them with vegan margarine and almond or coconut milk after I do groceries.

Mushroom Stuffed Zucchini

We loved this! I used cheddar cheese and frozen red peppers, since that is what I had. It was wonderful.

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Mm mm mm! I had no idea what peach cobbler was when I came across this recipe. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I am impressed. It's quick and easy and very tasty. My mom and sisters and I can peaches every year, and I was looking for a way to enjoy them besides eating them cold (way to cold here in Ontario for that this winter). I will be sharing this recipe with my family over Christmas.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I had high hopes for these muffins. I followed the suggestions by other reviewers and added another egg, regular milk instead of buttermilk, and a half a cup of sour cream. I also reduced the baking time to 18 minutes, as a reviewer suggested. They still turned out too dry for my liking. I won't be making these again.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
I haven't had these in years! My mom used to make them when I was a kid, but as the family grew (to 8 kids) it was too much work to roll out the balls!

Waffles

REALLY GOOD! I got this recipe from a friend in college. We were big fans of the waffles and ice cream at Williams Coffee Pub, and these waffles are just like them!

Chicken and Rice

Super easy. Very flavourful. I add fresh mushrooms and use all mushroom soup (because I always forget to buy the chicken soup).

Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
This is a family favourite. You can simmer the sauce in the slow cooker, too, though it takes longer that way. My husband, who is a huge lasagna fan, say this recipe is the best he's ever had. I usually add diced peppers and mushrooms to the sauce.

Delicious Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
This is my favourite salad for potlucks. It's not lettuce or potatoes or macaroni like everyone else's. It's so easy to whip up the night before...something I always look for with a baby in the house.

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
Great recipe! I added mushrooms and asparagus. I accidentally let the cream boil, but all that did was make it thicken quicker. If you like your pasta saucy, you will definitely need to double the sauce.
