Alla Checca

A wonderful way to use my bounty of homegrown tomatoes. Take my advice and can or freeze some of what you grow this summer. Then make this sauce in January--yum!

Breakfast Crisp

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2003
Like previous reviewers, I was disappointed with this recipe. The batter did not pour as instructed (too thick) and the final product was dry and crumbly with very little flavor. Definitely not a keeper.

Excellent! A great way to use fresh tomatoes from the garden!

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2003
I can't say enough about this cake. It's fabulous! My husband thinks the sauce would be better with rum, and I agree.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2002
These are fantastic rolls. Another reviewer said they tasted like the rolls at Lone Star steakhouses. I agree; they're about the closest you can come without the actual Lone Star recipe. Yum!

Coconut Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2002
Yum! This cake is even better the day after it's baked. The crunchiness that the glaze adds is unexpected, but welcome. Definitely a keeper. My only suggestion would be to add a little more coconut extract to the batter.

Orange Roughy with Citrus Sauce

Reviewed: May 31, 2001
This easy-to-make fish is excellent. The sauce is a bit too tart for my taste, so I add a teaspoon of sugar.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2001
This soup is excellent except for one thing. It has way too little chicken. I would double the amount called for.

Wow! What a fabulous cake! The cinnamon-sugar crust gives it an extra something that makes it a recipe I'll use often. Yum!

I made this recipe for my family on Christmas morning. They sure enjoyed them. The streusel topping adds just the right touch.

Doughnut Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2001
These muffins were wonderful. I have a recipe much like this one, but this one is better because the batter has cinnamon in it. The only criticism I have is that Debbie didn't mention that you should dunk the muffins in melted butter if you want the cinnamon-sugar mixture to stick. Otherwise, it falls right off.

Brunch Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2000
This recipe was just OK. I found that I couldn't get all of the filling the recipe made to fit in the muffin cups with all the batter there was. It may be better to increase the yield to 10 and put less batter in the bottoms, I don't know.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2000
Yum! This recipe was excellent! I normally don't like things made with onion or mushrooms, but I really enjoyed this. And it couldn't be easier to make. Simply dump and stir. I may, however, make it with boneless, skinless chicken breasts next time, as I am trying to watch my cholesterol.
