Aw-some Cole Slaw

This is seriously good coleslaw and ingredients I always have on hand! I did cut the sugar down to 1/4 cup because I was scared it would be too sweet and it was perfect for our tastes. I also left out the onions because I don't like them. Thanks for sharing, this is my new go-to slaw recipe!

Chef John's Mushroom Gravy

This was delicious! Made as written, except I had to use dried thyme. My only complaint is that I only had enough to make a half batch. Seriously good stuff! Served over basic meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Cabbage and Noodles with Ham

I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. I was skeptical that it did not have any sauce, but it worked! I did cut down the butter to 1/4 cup and cooked the ham in the cabbage to help flavor the dish. Thanks for sharing!

Mie Goreng - Indonesian Fried Noodles

We loved this... Used thin spaghetti noodles and omitted the sweet soy sauce (couldn't find it), otherwise followed closely. Quick easy and delish! I'll make again with recommend noodles, if I remember to pick them up from the store ;) Thanks for sharing!!

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

I tried to make stuffed burgers as written, but it wasn't going to happen so mixed the cream cheese mixture into beef. I also left some of the mixture to spread on bun. I had trouble with them crumbling on the grill. Overall the taste was just ok we thought. The beef needs a little seasoning in my opinion. Thanks for sharing, glad I tried them!

Hazelnut-Mushroom Pilaf

I enjoyed this very much, it was simple but delicious! I used toasted pine nuts because that was the only thing I had on hand, but look forward to trying with hazelnuts. Thanks for sharing!!!

Saint Paddy's Irish Sandwich

Loved it!!!! I made the sandwiches Panini style on the stovetop and added some Swiss cheese. I will forever make my ruebens with coleslaw instead of kraut, so much better! Used recipe "corned beef for sandwiches" off this site for the meat as it is the best I have ever tried. Thanks for sharing!!!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

As others have mentioned, I thought this needed a lot more seasoning. I added salt, pepper, paprika, worchester sauce, lemon juice and brown sugar (all the seasonings I put in my cabbage rolls). This is pure comfort food, could eat it every day! Thanks for sharing!

Brussels Sprouts with Mushrooms

Two things... 1) Don't boil for 15 minutes unless you want mush, I boiled for about 5-6 and finished in the saute pan. 2) There is no need for 5 tbls of butter, about half is plenty. Overall pretty good, I had all the ingredients on hand to use so it worked, not sure if I'll make again.

Reuben Sandwich II

Classic! Make sure to cook these slow so the meat heats and the cheese melts. Nothing worse than crispy bread with cold fillings. I make my own Thousand Island using "Thousand Island Dressing II" from this site because I hate buying a whole bottle just for Reuben night.

Tater Tot Bake

Pure comfort food! I did my arranging a bit differently like other suggested. Put the soup/cheese/milk/ground beef mixture on the bottom (added corn) and then put the tots over that. Baked for about 40 minutes, sprinkled more cheese over it and put it in for another couple minutes. This way the tots stay nice and crispy!

Jim's Cheddar Onion Soda Bread

First attempt at any sort of bread and it turned out great! I really dislike onions so I left them out. I was a little concerned at how crumbly my dough was so I may use a bit more buttermilk next time as others have suggested. Thanks for sharing, will for sure make again!!
