Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
Really good, next time I might try to sub in balsamic vinegar for the red wine vinegar as it seemed a little overpowering. Meat was very tender and delicious though. Thanks for sharing!

Maria's Mexican Rice

Really yummy! Left out the onion and pepper due to personal taste and added some peas and corn. Simple and delicious! Thanks for sharing!

California Club Turkey Sandwich

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
This was delicious, I was honestly sad when it was gone and contemplated making another one. I really enjoyed the flavor combinations and the addition of sunflower seeds. I made as written, but used lite veggie cream cheese. Not sure it needs the mayo, I might try leaving it out next time. Give this one a shot!

This was exactly what I was looking for! I used it to go in my chicken, napa cabbage and chow mien noodle wrap. Thanks for sharing!

Very yummy, simple and delicious! I cut back on the butter to 2 tbls and that was plenty. Also I wish I would have used the entire pound of asparagus I had on hand. Thanks for sharing!!

Both my husband and I epreally enjoyed this! One of the best dishes I have made in long time. Omitted capers due to personal taste. Thanks for sharing.

Joe's Mom's Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
Good stuff! Used turkey sausage and a can of tomatoes because I didn't have any fresh. Also omitted the green peppers, not a fan. Found that I didn't need the last cup of water when I added the tortellini. Thanks for sharing!

Orzo and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2014
I enjoyed this, took the advice of other reviews and added two bouillon cubes and fresh parsley (because I had some to in the fridge randomly). Simple and satisfying side dish, tastes a lot like Rice-a-Roni which I grew up on!

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
I made this as written and just thought it was OK. I can appreciate how easy it is and the list of ingredients I always have on hand though. I'll happily eat it, but not sure I'll make it again.

Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
There was nothing wrong with this recipe, it tasted pretty good, I just think my personal preference is just the traditional sandwich.

Chow Mein Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
Like others, I used cream of mushroom soup and 2 cups of rice. It reminds me of my childhood so that is why I think I love this recipe so much. It's not fancy but it just tastes good to me.

Sausage, Kale, and White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
I thought this was very good - healthy (used chicken sausage) and hearty. Perfect for a cold day's lunch. One thing I did do a bit differently was puree about half of the beans with some broth to make the soup seem more creamy. Also, I don't have a pressure cooker so just made the beans as directed. Finally, took a shortcut by using frozen chopped kale I found at Costco recently.

Bahamian Style Peas and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
I made this mostly as written and found it to be pretty bland. Overall a little disappointing, I've been looking forward to trying this for a long time and it just didn't live up to expectations. Probably won't make again but I'm glad I tried it. Just to clarify my rating has nothing to do with authenticity. The submitter clearly states it is "Bahamian Style" which means to me it is her interpretation.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
Good basic chili recipe. The only modification I made was to use a 14.5 oz can of tomato sauce and omit the cayenne (so my toddler would eat it). It makes a ton so I will be enjoying it for lunch this week.

As written, it is very bland. This recipe needs salt and pepper. If you look at all the 5 star reviews, they were all modified.

Wild River Bloody Mary Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Excellent mix! Brought it to a tailgating party before the Vikings game and everyone was asking me what was in the mix. It's better and cheaper than the pre-made stuff! I do prefer a thinner mix, so next time I might try half V8 and half Clamato juice. That is just personal texture preference though. I also added the juice of half lemon. Perfection!!!!!

Krystal's Perfect Marinade for BBQ or Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Great marinade, we really enjoyed it. I'm just mad at myself for not cutting my chicken into smaller pieces or pounding them out so they could soak up more flavor. Followed recipe exactly using low sodium soy.
