Squash Braid

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
Excellent recipe! We had leftover mashed sweet potatoes to use up so I made substituted sweet potato for the squash. Soft inside and beautiful color and presentation. Tasted great with the sweeter flavor of the "Slow-Cooked Habanero Chili"! I would like to try this recipe again but instead of braiding it, make rolls.

Calzone Rolls

I don't have a bread maker so I used frozen pizza dough to make these and they turned out delicious. I would love to try this dough recipe too though at some point. It was a fun change from regular pizza.

Sally's Spinach Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Used fresh spinach, and left out the sour cream and dill. Added bacon crumbled. Awesome! The bacon in it wasn't as good when we had the leftovers though. It got kind of soggy- yuck. But just after you make it the taste was delicious!

Bryan's Spicy Red Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Yum! I used 2 C. chicken broth, 1 C. water, and a little bit of lemon juice - per others recommendation. Also I didn't have cardamom so I left it out. SO GOOD! Awesome leftover too.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

We love these! I like them with shredded chicken and to save time have used a rotisserie chicken. I usually make a lot and freeze them without baking so we have them on hand for whenever we want to throw them in the oven.

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This was awesome! I made two loaves of bread just with the mixture spread on top of the risen frozen bread dough, then the next time I made it the pull-apart way. I only used one roll of frozen bread dough (halving the dipping mixture), which was nice because it cooked through quickly, but we wanted more to eat since it turned out so good! The only other change I made was to omit the green onions.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This was very good. I baked mine in the oven at 350F for 1 hour covered, and 30 minutes uncovered and it came out great. I doubled the sauce to pour on top, which tastes great. Next time I would still double the sauce, but use half mixed in the meat, and half poured on top. They seemed a little dry inside to us.

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I thought I sliced my potatoes (I used red potatoes) thin enough but it took much longer than suggested in order to get them cooked through. Otherwise the taste was good.

Beefy Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
We love this recipe because it's easy and filling. I usually make the rice separately though and stir it in at the end already cooked (I don't add more water at the end). And we sometimes use meatless spaghetti sauce in place of the tomato sauce and ketchup.
