Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
This is one of the best base recipes for carrot cake, I made this for someone that is diabetic so I subsituted the white sugar for 1c. Splenda and 1c. Splenda brown sugar and it was just as good as if I made it with regular sugar. I also followed some of the other suggestions like 3/4c. oil and 1/2c. of apple sauce, 1c. of raisins and 1/2tsp. of nutmeg. Absolutely amazing cake!!

This is a great recipe for the Ice cream cup cakes, I think it would be great with other flavorings than vanilla. I will definitly use again.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I'm not a huge fan of Oatmeal cookies, but really enjoyed these. Since I have a sweet tooth I try to make things that I don't really like to eat so I thought I would make these. Well long story short I couldn't stop eating them. If you leave them in the oven for just a few minutes more you get the best of both worlds, chewy or crunchy!

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
AMAZING!!!!!!!! I originally made this for my co-workers in the office, but it didn't make it to the office. This cheesecake is not a stiff cheesecake, but has a velvet texture, almost like a mousse. Yes this cheesecake takes more time and dirties more than most cheesecakes, but not any more time or dishes than a lot of other cakes. Make it, you won't regret it.

Basic Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Ecellent Cheesecake and very simple to make. This recipe isn't too sweet like some recipes. I followed the baking suggestions and baked this cake around 340 for about 60 minutes then left in the oven to finish baking. I will make this cheesecake again.

Washington Apple Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Both of my grandmothers use to make this cake when I was a child. One grandmother used vanilla and the other used lemon in the icing. This cake has always been a family favorite. Remember the batter is very thick before you put it in the pan so don't be alarmed.

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I personally thought this cake was just OK. I'm glad I tried the recipe before making the person birthday cake with it.I followed the recipe, but maybe I messed something up. I made half of it with cream cheese icing and the other with the butter cream icing. I have to say that I noticed that the next day the half made with cream cheese icing was more moist than the buttercream icing. Overall this cake was very dry to me and I ended up using the Wilton red velvet recipe. I never throw any sweets away, but this went in the trash after a couple of days.

Moist, Tender Spice Cake

Like other reviews I've read here I too thought it was a little dry. Even though it had a lot of flavor I will continue looking for that perfect spice cake.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
This was a great recipe for those bananas you don't want to throw out. I also enjoyed the fact that the ingredients are everyday things you should have in a kitchen. Like others suggested I added nutmeg and cinnamon for extra flavor. Next time I'm going to add some nuts to it. I checked the bread after an hour of baking and it still was gooey so I baked it for another 10 minutes. I noticed that it was kinda tasteless right after you make it, but was addicted to it the next day. If you plan on taken it to someone wait a day for all the flavor to settle. This was a really great and easy recipe that I'll continue to use.

Carrot Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
Overall this is a great recipe. I gave it 5 stars even though I altered it with some of the suggestions from other users. I used only 1 cup of oil and to be honest if I used the amount it said it would of been to wet and heavy. I also used a cup each of white/brown sugar. I didn't use the icing instead I used the cream cheese icing II. Everybody loved this cake and said it was one of the best carrot cakes they had ever had. Thank you for the recipe and suggestions.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
I have rated this recipe 5*'s based on the happy and full belly family members. This was my first time to make a turkey so I wanted to prove to my family that even though I'm a Vegetarian I could still make a good turkey. The aroma is amazing. I could tell that is was a very moist turkey from the moment I stuck a fork in it. The juices came flowing out. When you carve the turkey it slides right off because of how tender and moist it is. My family always eats the ham, but not this year. They ate a whole 18lb turkey and then nominated me to make it for all the years to come. Thank you sooooo much for a very successful recipe.
