Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
These are the best tasting cookies. I love them at Christmas time. I recommend chilling each batch in the freezer before baking. They really spread otherwise.

Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
This is the BEST recipe! It is the only way I make roast beef now. It is also the seasonings I use to make beef stock out of other cuts of beef. It makes a wonderful gravy and is great with yorkshire pudding!

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This was a great and easy salad! Finally, I can enjoy CA rolls without the work! I used way more rice than it called for: about 2 cups sushi rice. I will also cut back on the sugar a smidge next time. Other than that I will be making this a lot! Thanks!

Michelle's Coconut Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This was good, and I will make it again, but I had too much sugar! I would cut that back next time and add way more curry paste.

Hot Fudge Sauce II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
This recipe had good taste and we enjoyed it. Next time I will not use semisweet chocolate, but will go with bitter chocolate. It was too sweet with the chips and all the sugar. I will also add 2 t. of vanilla. I will keep this recipe, it was very easy.

Cherry Pie IV

Cherry Pie has always been a problem for me since it is often sour and runny. This is the only recipe I make now. It always tastes great with the right consistency.

Baked Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I have to admit, I did not much like this steak at all. Probably just personal preference versus that this recipe is necessarily "bad". I couldn't even bring myself to eat the leftovers.

White Fruit Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I made this cake as my "Main" Christmas dessert this past Christmas and I was VERY VERY pleased with the results! I only made a couple changes, and none of those being fundamental. I used whiskey in place of the orange juice and I used less candied fruit and more dried fruits like dates and apricots and dried pineapple not candied. I also poured 1/4 cup whiskey over top before setting aside on the cold backporch to age a little. Everyone loved it..even my husband who is not a fruitcake person. I will make again and again. This is now my fruitcake recipe that I will use. Next year I will probably only use dried fruits and no candied. It makes for a more real flavor. Thank you for this recipe!!

Very, Very, Very Good Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I have mixed feelings about this cheesecake. I liked the flavor, but the texture was troublesome. I say troublesome, because it stuck to the knife so bad I couldn't serve it without making a mess! I will make again with less cream next time. The flavor was exactly what I want with more weight to the texture. Everyone I served it to enjoyed it though. Just too fluffy for me and I will adjust. It also takes a lot longer to cook than stated!!!

This was very tasty! And all the better for being soooo simple! I even read the temp wrong and overcooked mine, and we still enjoyed it. I will definetly be making this one time and time again! The kids loved it too. Unless you are serving with a salad, you may need to double the recipe.

Quick Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
I enjoyed this recipe. It was very easy to throw together in a hurry. I loved the simplicity of the press in piecrust. If made again, which I may, I will adjust seasoning for more pazazz. Would reduce the pickle. Maybe even serve with fresh lettuce and other hamburger makings on top!
