I'm a wife, a mum and a damned good cook. My family eats mostly veggie fare, though we're not averse to the occasional free-range chicken or unmedicated cow when our budget allows.
My favorite things to cook
I love to go wild in the kitchen - I rarely take a recipe at face-value and always add my own flair.
I'll cook almost anything - so I have to say my favourite things to cook are beautiful, fresh, organic veggies from local farmers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I haven't started any with my little family yet - but my son (20 months) has started to "help" me bake cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I can make something edible out of almost anything - I am like MacGuyver in the kitchen, baby! (See tragedies for the exception).
My cooking tragedies
there was one time I made a casserole with various foods from our freezer (this was back when I was 18, broke and living with a roommate) which included tater-tots, something with chicken, some frozen veggies and as I recall, some cheese whiz... need I say more?
I also have a bad habit of burning thick soups - my husband and I have started referring to these bi-monthly tragedies as "divorce soup" because if I were to serve it to him he'd be sure to divorce me.
