Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
Great Recipe Idea. Made small ones as appetizers and bigger ones as part of a buffet dinner. Didn't have barbecue sauce so I used ketchup, mustard and a little brown sugar. Had Crescent rolls on hand so I pinched the seams together and cut out circles to put into muffin pans. Baked them 2 minutes first before filling as recommended by others. I also added a small amount of minced bell pepper to one batch. Yum. Stored the few leftovers in a ziplock and they were eaten cold the next day because they were so tasty.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
Wow, didn't think much of this recipe when I read it, because it hasn't got any additional spices in it including salt or pepper. Came out perfectly! Such great flavor and SO easy. No marinating ahead or anything! Made one change with sauce...I pureed the sauce right in the pan with one of those one stemmed mixers. It made the sauce sweet and smooth. GREAT RECIPE FOR BEGINNERS.

Dorsey's Fish & Oyster House Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
These were so tasty, but hard to keep together. Made small ones as appetizers. Used half real crab and half fake stuff. Fajke crab makes them sweeter and cuts the cost a lot. Will make them again

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
These were just great. I put a few M&Ms on half the batch and sprinkles on the other. They freeze really well and stay perfectly fresh in a cookie tin.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
What a great recipe! I was looking to use 3 zucchini that I had left over from the other night. I shredded them, added the walnuts and mixed them in at the end. Followed the recipe except for sugar...lowered white sugar to 1 3/4 c and added 1/4 c brown sugar. Only had to cook 45 minutes. Cooled on racks, not in pans. They were perfect. Thank goodness it makes 2 loaves. My son nibble the first loaf down to half before dinner. Got to try it!

Buttery Spritz Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Perfect dough for a cookie press! Found the taste a little bland. May add more extracts next time. The cookies bake up beautifully light and white. I added sugar crystals to sweeten the tops, but the best was a slight drizzling of melted chocolate. Will make again.

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Great Cookies! Taste like brownies, and have that crackled look even. My husband loves them and he doesn't really go for desserts. These store really well and stay chewy in an airtight container.

Anise Overnight Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
This is a fabulous recipe. I have been making these for years. Very simple to make. I use a pastry tube to put them on the cookie sheet. It's faster and not as messy. The drying overnight allows for the cookie to develop a crust on top so it crisps when baking. Looks kind of like a stubby mushroom after it is baked. Texture will harden as the day goes by. Reminds me of a German Springerle cookie.

Sugared Black Raspberry Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Best cookies by far. Liked it because I didn't need eggs. Outside texture is lightly crisp because of being rolled in sugar. Taste is just right. Changes I made: I only had unsalted butter on hand so I added 1/4 tsp salt instead. I omitted the chocolate chips - not a fan. I rolled them into 3/4" balls so they would be more bite sized, besides it made more. Took less time to cook, probably because my oven is so old.

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
Best Salmon recipe for glaze lovers. Couldn't believe how fast and easy this was. Taste was spectacular and fish was perfectly done. Must be careful to put on MEDIUM heat. I burned the sugar the first time and had to start again.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
Great comfort food. We liked it because you could taste everything. It didn't get buried under too much sauce. Made this on a cold night for 5 family members. We had NO leftovers.

Great Recipe. My wonderful husband made the whole thing! He was so proud to serve it that night. This was the second time we've made it. Tastes good with any kind of cheese.
