My Plum Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
There isn't anything right about this recipe. I used an 8x8 pan instead of the large one - no way there would be enough of anything to fill the larger pan. It calls for a tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of nutmeg? I cut that way back since I can't even imagine how awful that would have been. I used about 15 plums and increased the amount of topping. This still turned out to be only about 3/4 of an inch thick. I'm wondering what the people did that liked it? Did I miss something? I won't make this again.

Apricot Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
This is one of the best pies I've ever made - absolutely delicious! I made it exactly as written except I purchased the pie crust since I'm terrible at making them! For those who said it wasn't sweet enough or the peels were tough were probably not using fresh-picked apricots straight from a tree. The store-bought apricots are terrible and will make your pie inferior to fresh-picked! I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could!!

Sweet Lime Iced Tea

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
I saw this recipe and wanted to make it immediately so I skipped brewing the tea and purchased unsweetened Tejava tea that tastes fresh brewed. I like my tea strong so it is perfect. I used some no-calorie sweetener and fresh picked limes that one of our customers at work brings to share with us. I cut a few limes, squeezed the juice into my glass of tea and I am hooked! Thanks so much for the recipe....it's so good. Maybe I will quit being lazy and brew my own tea this weekend!!

Delicious Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Yummy! I will be making this soup again soon since hubby and I ate almost all of it in one sitting. I recommend not adding additional salt. I used low sodium soy sauce with no extra salt and it was perfect. I also used barley instead of rice and did not puree the vegetables. I'm sure it would be equally good pureed - we just happen to like the chunkiness. You won't be disappointed with this soup!

Terry's Texas Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I made these beans for Christmas Eve dinner and they are quite possibly the best beans I have ever made or eaten. I followed the recipe exactly except that I cooked them in my crock pot for about nine hours. They were perfect. My food critic husband (former chef/cook) thought they were delicious too. Thanks for sharing this recipe Terry.
