Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
I threw a splash of worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke into the pot with the other ingredients as it boiled. Boiled for 45 minutes per other reviewers. I didn't measure the BBQ sauce, just made sure they were thoroughly covered. Yummmm! Thank you for the recipe!

Dumpling Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I liked that the dumplings were more an old fashioned style, denser than say a Bisquick variety. I will use that recipe again, thank you. The soup though was as some others said, bland and heavy. If you like old timey simple blander recipes, this may be for you. For us though, I will find a better soup recipe with more flavor and use this dumpling recipe in it.

Blueberry Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
I'm not a plain jello fan, but this was delicious. The pie filling gives it a different texture and taste from plain old jello and the topping is great. Also, very easy and quick to throw together.

Beef Burgundy III

This recipe was pretty good. I think it needed a little more flavor from something. It was easy though and ingredients were simple.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
Very good recipe. I like the change from the usual tomato based sauce. I used fat free cream of mushroom, light sour cream, and reduced fat cheese and they still tasted great.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
Okay, they definately DO NOT taste as good as the chain doughnut shop they are being compared to. They remind me more of the taste of those doughnuts you get in Chinese places. The glaze was very good though. But for all the effort, unless you like bragging rights of saying you made it, save yourself time and energy and just buy the ones from the shop. They taste better and are not very expensive.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
I thought this was just okay. Like others, I felt it was missing something. The flavors were a good pair up, but there was no real sauce. Will give it one more shot with the wine this time and more bacon and cheese and see what happens.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Liked this recipe, but after reading other reviews, did cut the balsamic vinegar in half. I think if I had used the whole amount it would have been too tart. Wasn't sure whether I was supposed to drain the tomatoes or not.

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
Wonderful recipe for cube steak. My husband and 2 year old loved it. I substituted garlic powder for the garlic salt, and didn't use any extra salt. It is still a salty recipe, so if you are under a salt restriction, wouldn't be so good.
