Cranberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
These turned out pretty good, they rose well and the texture was great. I added a few more cranberries as another reviewer recommended and I also added 3/4 cup chopped pecans. The taste was ok, but not as good as other recipes I've tried. Maybe adding some orange zest would help a little?

Vegetable and Feta Latkes

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
these were quite tasty, the feta is a nice addition. I omitted the parsley (and I didn't miss it) and I used 2 1/2 cups of potato and 1 cup of zucchini. I also used whole wheat flour instead of matzah meal. They were a hit!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I thought that I would be thoroughly impressed without question after seeing how many people have reviewed this one and how high it was rated. I found the cookies to be a little drier than I would have liked. The taste was ok, but I think that if I made them again, I'd follow the advice of adding more salt and vanilla. Maybe also reducing the baking time to 8-10 minutes, which is what the Jello site recommends. They were good and all, just not the "award winning" recipe I was looking for.

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
This was my first ever attempt at making French Onion soup. I've only eaten FO soup at places like Panera Bread, so I don't exactly know what an "authentic" FO soup tastes like. This soup is, however, quite good. My husband also really liked it and he is rather picky. I was a little afraid that I had too many onions after I finished chopping. Red and Vidalia onions are rather large as it is, and I purchased some of the smallest ones that my grocery store had. They cooked down nicely, though, and it looked like the right amount once the broth was added. I did not add any salt at the end, but I probably would the next time in order to offset the strong balsamic flavor. The only comment I have is that the flavor is a little "balsamicy."

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
Pretty good rolls, very easy to make and the dough is very easy to work with. Not the best tasting that I have made, however. I used the traditional method of preparation. My bread machine went to Goodwill a long time ago, I didn't like how it worked in general.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
This recipe was ok, but nothing spectacular. I recommend a few adjustments if you are to make this one. If I made these again I would either use an 8X8 pan or I would double the oat mixture. The 13X9 pan yielded a very thin bar, not at all like the picture. These are very rich, they remind me a lot of "magic bars."

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
Pretty darn good stuffing. I realized at the last minute that I was out of sage, so I omitted it. I'm sure the flavor would be even better with the sage. Definitely will try this one again.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
The cloves are a little overpowering for my tastes. I'll be adjusting the amount next time I make these. Overall, very yummy.
