Spiced Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
Very good, loved the different flavor the beer gives although not too overpowering. I did add extra water, I thought it was a little too thick.

Easy Cheap and Yummy Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
Super easy...kids loved the ingredients. I did add some brown sugar to the beans and for some reason I thought I needed a 2nd box of corn muffin mix (didn't look like enough). It was way too much! So stick to the one box. Also thought it could use more baked beans. Will definitely make again!!

Cheese Ball - Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
So easy and so good! We love the horseradish so I add a little more. Best to make a few hours early or let sit overnight.

Peanut Butter Cocoa No-Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
With this recipe (and previous reviews) I finally got my no bake cookies to turn out perfect! I did add about 1/2 cup more oats and left out the peanuts. I boiled for 2 minutes and let sit 1 minute before I added the remaining ingredients. I'm not sure if that did the trick but they firmed up nicely but not too dry.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
Just what I was looking for! All 3 of my kids gave it "thumbs up". So good. I did change a few things according to other reviewers. Doubled the recipe and used 1 cup light Mayo, 1 cup buttermilk and 1 cup sour cream. Added more garlic powder than 1/2 tsp, probably a full teaspoon. Used minced onion instead of chives and left out the dill weed. Used my hand blender to mix. If I would have known it was this easy I would have been making it long before now!

French Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I got lots of compliments on this bread...and it looked beautiful too! I used 5 teaspoons of yeast and a cup less flour. I also added some garlic and onion powder and a tablespoon of butter in the dough...gave it a good flavor. Next time I may make 4 smaller, thinner loaves...more like baguettes.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
So tender and juicy! My kids gobbled them up. I did put them under the broiler for a couple of minutes to "crisp" them up. Will definitely make again!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
Very moist, very delicious! Even my husband who "hates" oatmeal/raisin cookies couldn't resist. Soaking the raisins does seem to make these cookies better than any I have tried. I have given the recipe out many times and no one has had a bad batch yet!

Country Crunch Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Just fixed these for breakfast and they were a big hit with hubby and the kids! I substituted 2% milk with a little over 2 tblsp vinegar for the buttermilk. Not something I would fix everyday, very sweet, but it made Sunday breakfast extra special!

Meandus' Easy Dinner

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
This was super easy and my "meat and potatoes" family really liked it. I added some beef boullion (maybe 1 1/2 to 2 cups) to give a little more flavor. I think I will top it off with shredded cheese next time. Very good!

Egg and Hash Brown Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2006
I loved this but best of all the kids loved this! I added a couple extra eggs, a little more milk and few more slices of bacon and made a 9X13 dish. I will try it next with sausage or ham.

Stained Glass Candy I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
Love, love the idea of using kool-aid! My kids are crazy about it. So colorful and flavorful. You really do need to use 2 packets of kool-aid. I spread mine on aluminum foil covered in powdered sugar. I found a jelly roll pan makes it too thick in places. I only wish Kool-aid came in cinnamon flavor!

Snow Ice Cream II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Wow! Bring back memories! Yummy! I did heat up my half & half (instead of milk), sugar and vanilla just until sugar melted; then set outside to cool. My kids were amazed at their "talented" mom!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
So good and so easy! I did use bacon instead of ham. I just fried about 1/2 lb bacon and crumbled. I did put a little of the bacon grease in the pot then sauted the onions and carrots before I added the potatoes. Used chicken boullion as suggested also. Hubby couldn't believe I whipped up this amazing soup in such a short time!

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
My picky kids LOVED this! I substituted rotini pasta for the macaroni and added a 2nd can of tuna. Also added some garlic and onion powder and a little paprika to give it some spice. I sliced Velveeta and layered on the top for the last couple of minutes before I added the french fried onions. I then stuck it under the broiler for 1 minute.

Honey Bun Cake I

Very good, more like a coffee cake though. I used french vanilla cake mix and 1/2 the topping. Two days later and no left overs!!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
Awesome!!...It is worth the work and the extra wait (it does take longer for this dough to rise so be patient). The icing is "to die for"! Much better than the powdered sugar/milk mixture I would have made.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2005
If your looking for chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside..this is it! My husband said to throw out all my other chocolate chip cookie recipes...even my mothers!! As long as they are sealed up they stay chewy and crisy for several days also.

Grandma Grippin's Brown Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2004
VERY rich...a little goes a long way! Very good but it doesn't seem to keep very well in the fridge (got runny)so probably best to make when your not looking for something that will be good for leftovers.

Mini Crescent Roll Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2014
This was supper tonight and all my picky teenagers loved it! Reading the reviews I used almost 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef with the same amount of cheese and package of onion soup mix. I used 2 cans of crescent rolls. I thought it sounded too simple and easy to be that good...I was wrong! Always looking for something different to do with ground beef, this one is a winner!
