Grandma Jeanette's Amazing German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
I made this for our annual Beer Brats and 'Shoes party. Excellent! I took the suggestion of another reviewer and used 1/3 cup of applesauce instead of the apples. Also used 5 whole cloves. Worked just fine. This is a keeper!

Wow. Excellent! I halved the recipe based on how much broth I made. I did not add the broth. This is a definite keeper! Yummy creamy turkey rice soup!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
Excellent. I followed the recipe except I roasted in my convection oven for 30 at 450 degrees and 1 hour at 400. Delicious. Made only half the basting marinade and it was sufficient for one chicken. Will definitely make again.

Spectacular Marsala Glazed Carrots with Hazelnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
This is an excellent, easy recipe. In halving the recipe for two, one shallot was a bit much. I might even reduce to 1/2 a shallot when splitting the recipe. Overall though, just yummy. Might even be good with fresh, frenched green beans - not overly cooked.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2004
Excellent and easy. I followed other advice and used 1/2 the required cream cheese and sprinkled with powdered sugar rather than use the icing. Used lowfat cream cheese and sour cream and buttery flake crescent rolls. Great reviews from the board retreat members. Is definitely a keeper!

Easy to prepare. I used fat free 1/2 and 1/2 and yogurt. Turned out creamy, smooth and yummy. I didn't have ginger garlic paste so subbed fresh garlic and ginger juice. Excellent. Would make again!

I made this with dried cherries plumped with raspberry juice as I do not like the tartness of cranberries. It got rave reviews at work! Excellent!

Coconut Cream Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2002
I made this recipe for Easter to make bunnies cakes for hospital staff. Everyone raved. You need two inch high round pans - makes a lot of batter. I used fluffy cream cheese frosting from a can. Would suggest an apricot or raspberry filling for layers. Yummm! Excellent!!

Cake Mix Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
If I had not made them, I would not have believed how good this were and I believe in making breads from scratch! Sweet but not too sweet for dinner. Don't let the dough get too stiff - keep it slightly sticky. I just made regular rolls - no rolling into crescents. Did great!!
