About this Cook
I am a legal professional with a passion for food. And, while I enjoy cooking, I really love baking. If I ever win the lottery, I would love to open a little neighborhood bakery.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cookies. All different kinds. I love the way people take a bite of a freshly baked cookie and glow with delight.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents are from the Caribbean, so I've grown up with foods that have amazing flavours. I love spicy curries, rich stews and fresh herbs in everything. The more flavour the better!
My cooking triumphs
I consider all of my food that people enjoy "triumphs".
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes when I was about 10. Burnt on the outside, runny on the inside.

Emily's Chipotle Chili
This was one of my favorite tasting chilli's ever. Loved the adobo chiles in this recipe. I love hot food so I doubled the amount of them. I also used ground turkey instead of beef and used half the amount of meat.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
I followed the recipe exactly - no edits, changes or modifications. And, while the flavour was lovely - the cookies were NOT what I was expecting. They were too puffy! I'm looking for a cookie where the edges crackle in your teeth when you bite into it, and the centre remains soft and a little gooey. This is not the cookie for me.

Easy OREO Truffles
These truffles are awesome! Three ingredients and they wow everyone who eats them. I made them for friends and they were amazed when I told them how simple the recipe was. They look great too. For a little added bonus, I added a little amaretto to the oreo/cream cheese filling.
