Kielbasa with Brussels Sprouts in Mustard Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This was great!! Even my 9 and 7 year old liked it. Didn't have course Dijon, so substituted raspberry wasabi dipping mustard. Make sure you look for the small, tender brussel sprouts. Thanks for the recipe!

Quinoa Side Dish

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I sauteed the onions in butter first, then added the quinoa to toast, followed by chicken broth (didn't have vegetable). Tasted wonderful, but added strained/diced tomatoes for an extra kick. YUM--kids even liked it!! Excellent recipe Sal, thank you!!

Chili III

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Used lean ground chicken instead of beef, thereafter followed recipe to the "T". I was a little skeptical, however found that it was surprisingly delicious. DH and kids all had 2nds and complimented the chef!! Topped it with grated sharp cheddar. Yummy!!

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
I messed up by not heating the chips to the correct consistency and had to deal with a gloppy mess. I placed wax paper over the goo and pressed/rolled it flat into the pan. After the bark hardened, I pulled off the wax paper, and it turned out beautiful and delicious--despite my goofs. So, make sure you cook the chips to the right consistency or you will have the same troubles I did.

Newport Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This was my first attempt at clam chowder. Based on the rating and review, I took a gamble on this one. Tripled the recipe for our weekly neighborhood get-together, and followed the suggestions of others, by adding 4 celery stalks to the butter/onion roux. I also used 3 tsp old bay seasoning, 6 cans whole baby clams, 3 bottles clam juice,15 cups of chicken stock, 9 cups half-n-half and 8 pounds of potatoes. This recipe was pretty easy to prepare and cooked up thick and hearty. The taste is rich and delicious and I love the addition of the dill. This chowder was an absolute hit and deserves its 5 star rating!!

Strawberry Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
Oh, man, this cake was to die for!! I pureed 1.5 cup frozen strawberries and used a French Vanilla cake mix, then followed the rest of the recipe to a "T". Came out so moist and delicious. Followed others suggestions and topped it with Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting. YUMMY, A+ recipe.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
Absolutely delicious! Followed others suggestions and chilled my beater and bowl before whipping the cream until stiff. Then gently folded in the cream cheese/sugar mixture. Had no problems with it being drippy, even decorated it with canned decorator icing with no problems. Everyone devoured the cake and gave me 2 thumbs up on the icing!! YUM......Thanks for the great recipe!!

Cranberry Waldorf

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
Best waldorf salad I've ever had. Omitted the raisins and extra sugar; substituted organic low fat vanilla yogurt; & threw in a few more walnuts than called for. Healthier & tastier substitute for the old fashioned waldorf salad & the kids loved it!
