Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
YUM!! I bought some nice Salmon Filets and wasn't too sure what to do with them. I used your recipe only I put it on the gril for about 15 minutes instead of baking because it was too hot to have the oven going.

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
OMG this wasw Fantastic!! I have the PICKIEST eaters around here and everyone not only had seconds, but thirds too!!! Wow it was so good! I did make a couple changes based on what I like and some of the suggestions. ** I added a cut up carrot, I added celery but not chopped, put in a stalk whole (noone likes the texture of cooked celery but I wanted the flavor) Put in 2 bay leaves. Skipped the peppers and onions (did add a dash of minced onion from a jar) Also I used crushed tomateos instad of diced beacuse my picky son hates tomato chunks. I cooked it all day, like from 8am to about 6pm andin the last half hour or so I threw in some alphabet pasta. It was fabulous, I am sure the original reciipes was meant to be tweaked to your personal tastes and I am so glad you shared this!! I will be making it again and passing on the recipe to others, Thanks!

Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
After reading the reviews I was worried that this wouldn't come out right, but I still wanted to try it out since I had never cooked pork chops this way before. I didn't want the BBQ to burn so in a bowl I mixed the BBQ sauce with some water and threw in some seasonings. I also seasoned the chops with garlic, seasoning salt, a grind og fresh crushed red peppers. Put the layer of bbq sauce, then chops, then a couple slices of onion, topped with bbg and layered again until everything was used up. Cooked on HI for 2 hours, and then added carrots and cooked for another 2 hours. It was Just ok, I think I could have acheived the same flavor baking it or even putting it in a skillet. Won't waste my time making it again.

Potato-Topped Meat Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
Delicious! I made a couple minor changes based on what I had on hand . I used one 16 oz package of thawed frozen corn (and no peas ), and in the meat mixture I mixed in about half a can of beef broth (about 6 oz)to make it a moister mixture. It was great! Thanks for the recipe!

Orange Spiced Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
Let me start off by saying I made a few changes to the recipes per all the reviews saying the same thing, thats why its a 4 instead of a 5. Made the marinade in the morning when I had a momeny- so it got the chance to marinade for about 7 hours instead of only 2-3. Switched the soy sauce and OJ ammounts, added some orange zest and used honey instead of sugar. Also used extra garlic ('cause I LOVE GARLIC!). I am not a big fan of raisins so I put them in the marinade but took them out before cooking. It came out delicious!!! Served over rice with green beans on the side! My PICKY boy ate it up! YUM! Thanks!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
I will never buy a carrot cake from the bakery again!!! This was a smashing hit with everyone at my Easter Dinner table! First carrot cake recipe I ever tried and the only one I will ever use! I made a few changes to the original recipe to help us cut out some fats and calories. Heres my changes: In place of the oil I used about 3/4 cup oil, 1/2 cup applesauce, added a can of drained crushed pinapples, replaced the sugar with Splenda. For the frosting I reduced the sugar by about a cup. Also used two 8 inch cake pans and baked for 35 minutes. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
Delicious is the right word here!!! We had a huge ham for Easter which meant lots of leftovers to use up, this recipe was perfect! My few moderations are: I used a whole box of elbow macaroni (1 lb) and crushed up some french fried onions for the top, baked 30 minutes . I never made a white sauce before so I was worried it would be horrible but with these easy to follow directions it came out great, Thanks!!!

Easy Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This is soo good I am thinking about making another batch right now!!! I did make a couple changes based on what I had on hand and my personal preferences Skipped the bacon and green onions Instead of diced tomatoes, used a can of Ro-Tell Diced tomatoes with green chilis Used a cheese blend instead of just mozz. , Added a bit more of each spice (maybe double), Oh and I usd fresh spinach, steamed first. Served in a pumpernickel bread bowl with blue tortilla chips, Was going to take a picture to post on here but it went so fast and I had none left!! :)

Spinach Brownies

Fantastic!! The only change I made was I used serveral cheeses instead of just the mozzerella,( but still totalling about the same quantity.( I used feta, some mozzerella and a chedder/monteray jack mix. Also added parmasean both to the mix and the top. It came out terrific and I will be making it again and again!!

Taco Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Really liked the recipe, didn't use the granules because I didn't have any but the flavor was still good. I like things SPICY so I added more of a kick to it with ground red cayenne pepper and and more crushed red pepper. I won't have to buy seasoning packets for tacos ever again! Thanks!

Peachy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I went with the suggestions of a couple of the other reviews and added more ginger and some soy sauce. Also used home cannned peaches in light syrup . Served with white rice . I thought the recipes was good in theory, something different and fruity that can be tweaked to meet ones personal tastes. It won't make its way into my dinner rotation because I was the only one who enjoyed the recipe at my table. Its worth trying though!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
These are absolutely delicious!!! I made them and they were an immediate favorite around here. I went with the suggestions from other users and lessened the cooking time to about 8 minutes and added a lil extra cinnamon and some nutmeg. Also, used all butter instead of shortening! These are great! I am so glad I found this recipe!!!
