About this Cook
June Cleaver reincarnated. I have been baking since I was a teenager and will put my own spin on almost any recipe to make it perfect. After years of brownie recipe testing, I finally settled on New York Supernatural brownies (with my own touches) as the finest.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is truly my forte' - cakes, cookies, pies, breads, you name it. I also make a mean macaroni and cheese and phenomenal crepes.
My cooking triumphs
Biscuits! After years of Bisquick (yuck!), I finally perfected my biscuits with the right amount of baking powder, real butter (no shortening) and real buttermilk. Sublime! I also produce the finest pie crust imaginable - by hand, no food processor!
My cooking tragedies
My very first recipe at age 12 was my biggest disaster. It was a brownie recipe that called for 12 oz. semisweet chocolate and I mistakenly used baking chocolate. They were like tar!

Pumpkin Pancakes
Substituted buttermilk for the milk. Made a cream cheese glaze. Outstanding. Oh, and by the way, I used Trader Joe's organic canned pumpkin. Uh, canned pumpkin IS real pumpkin. Frankly I find cooking sugar pumpkin a pain in the butt and don't taste any appreciable difference that would make it worth the extra effort.

Popovers
This is an excellent recipe. My own tweaks: I add 1 to 1 and 1/2 T of melted butter to the batter (richer taste) I preheat the oven for at least 15 minutes. I also preheat the pan for 2 minutes. Wonderful filled with scrambled eggs and diced bacon or merely jam or marmalade.

Caramel Corn IV
Excellent recipe. Easy to make and delicious result. Just one recommendation: Do NOT use microwave popcorn. People, you seriously do not want those cancer causing ingredients in your family's systems. Truly, the less processed food your children get the better off they'll be. Pull out a pan, some corn and oil and make yourself some good old fashion popcorn!
