Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Beautiful, delicious and wonderful! I used this recipe for last year's Thanksgiving dinner, everyone loved it. I blended the spices and oil 2 days in advance and let the flavors infuse, so it was even more aromatic. I'm using it again this year for today's Thanksgiving dinner, and my house already smells amazing! Trust me, this one doesn't disappoint.

Vanilla Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2007
Perfect!! But with a few changes... I used condensed milk instead of evaporated, because I like thick, creamy pumpkin pie, and I used fresh pumpkin instead of canned. I followed others advice and increased the vanilla, added some nutmeg, and replaced a third of the white sugar with brown. It turned out great, and is my new favorite pumpkin pie recipe! Thanks a lot!

Apricot-Glaze Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
Good, and easy marinade that would also go well over shrimp, or maybe even ham? Easy to make, not too sweet, I'll hang on to this recipe.

Easy Corn Chowder II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
Loved it! I've been looking for a recipe that rivaled the corn chowder they used to serve at a local resturaunt, and this is it. So eay to make, I also used canned potatos so could skip that step. I just threw everything together in one big pot and let it simmer for a while. The only thing I added was a little bit of garlic, and about a cup of sharp cheddar cheese right before I took it off the stove. My fiance loved it. I loved it. I will definately be making this one again, and often. Thanks so much for an awesome recipe!

4H Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
Over all this is very good.I used 3 bananas,which yeilded about 1 1/4 cups. 4 would have been better. I took the advice of some other reviews and added some cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. I didn't use the milk because I ran out and didn't feel like going to the store. It turned out really well, not nearly as crumbly as others made it sound. I took "mommy from seattle"'s advice and covered it with foil while it cooled, and she's right, it really locked in the moisture! I will definately make this again, thanks for a great recipe and heplful tips!! :-}

Butterscotch Blondies

YUMMY!! They were a huge hit with my fam. I reduced cooking time by almost ten minutes. I think they would have been over done otherwise.

Orange Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
I really liked these a lot! The orange and the chocolate go so well together. The icing was a little melty, but if you kept them in the fridge, that wasn't a huge deal.

Raspberry-Glazed Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
This was really good! I used the glaze over pork chops, but it would also go well with ham. I reccommend using seedless raspberry preserves. If you can't find that, just heat and strain regular raspberry preserves through a wire strainer. I also found it be a touch on the sweet side, so added some fresh black pepper to the glaze which worked quite well to tone down the surgar, and gave it a little bit of kick! I will definately try this one again, and I think I'll use dijion next time, like some others mentioned.

Special Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
Not bad, not bad at all. This stew has a good flavor to it, the only thing I added was a few bay leaves. It all got eaten, so I'd say it was a sucess.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
I'm sorry, I didn't really like this recipe. It was very dry and pretty bland. I ended up using most of it for stuffing because no one was eating it. It did make decent stuffing:-) Adding some milk and sugar might help, but I don't think I'll make this one again.

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
Really yummy, a definate keeper. I upped the cayanne a little, I like things spicy! I also doubled the amount of lentils, which caused me to have to add some water also. It seemed more like a veggie soup with lentils, I wanted more of a lentil soup with veggies. I didn't puree it per some other members advice, and it turned out great! My honey loved it, and my sis even said it was really good. My culinary skills pale in comparrison to hers, so that compliment meant a lot, coming from her! I'll make this again and again! Thanks for the great recipe :-)

Zucchini Risotto

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This was my first attempt at making risotto that didn't come out of a box, and it turned out pretty good. I had no problems keeping it from getting lumpy, but I found the flavor leaving a little something to be desired. I will probably make this again, but I'll play with it a little more if I do.

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This was an ok recipe. It was very heavy. I mixed the sour cream, butter, soup and cheese together in a sauce pan on the stove before mixing it with ham and potatos because a few other reviewers mentioned that the ingredients didn't come together, and I had no similar problem. Definatly not a low fat dish, I'm not sure if I'll make this again or not. Since no one ate the left overs, and half of it ended up in the trash, probably not.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This recipe makes a great minestrone! The only thing I added was garbanzos, because I love them. It made a ton! More like 10-12 servings! I stored the pasta seperate from the soup when I put it in the fridge, it keeps the pasta from getting too soft. We ate it for a week, and it tasted fresh everytime!

Spicy Cuban Mojo Chicken with Mango-Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I thought this was an excellent recipe! My fiance loved it as well. I didn't have time to marinate the chicken, so I just sauteed it in the paste from the blender, and transfered it all to a baking dish. I also had a hard time getting the sauce to thicken, so I added a little cornstarch, and cut the butter in half. It turned out great! I will make this again.

Lattice Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
Easy and yummy, my fiance loved it. I added frozen peas and canned potatos, and used cream of chicken soup instead of cream of potato. I covered the whole top of the pie instead of doing the lattice because I wanted more of a pie crust. It was great! I'll never buy frozen again!

Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
Very Good! Ilove that it uses honey instead of surgar. I think it could use a little bit more honey though, and AT LEAST double the spices, but I will definately make this again.
