Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
I used fresh mushrooms, red wine instead of water, and ground beef (as it was all I had on hand). Very nice flavour, we will definitely keep this recipe around and use it again.

Cranberry Upside-Down Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
The cake was really nice and moist! I used dried cranberries and the taste was still great. The only thing I would change would be to add more nuts the next time around.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
This was nice. I added sliced almonds, used frozed green beans and baby carrots. If you're looking for a way to get in your veggies, this is a good option.

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
I changed this recipe a lot- maybe that's why we didnt like it. But I thought it would be way to dry as written. First, I marinated the chicken in the artichoke marinade, plus the oil from a jar of sun-dried tomatoes. When making the sauce, I grilled the chicken on a stove-top grill pan, added 1/2 jar of chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce, chopped olives, the marinade from the chicken, chopped fresh spinach and a can of diced tomatoes. Sad to say it came out just basically like a tangy non-traditional spaghetti sauce. Not a favourite.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
My husband immediately tasted the mayo. Not our favourite quiche recipe.

Pork Chops with Burgundy Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
My husband and I both enjoyed this. I added a bay leaf to the broth while it simmered- I think that added some depth to the flavour. Next time I will double the broth though, not nearly enough!

Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
Tasty! I seasoned the beef with cumin and lots of garlic, as well as using the 10 minute enchilada sauce from this site.

Cold Roasted Moroccan Spiced Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
Flavours did not seem to blend at all- all we tasted was the sugar and cayenne. I will not make this again.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
I have made this twice now- it is a favorite at our place. My only suggestion is to double the glaze recipe, it is a great dipping sauce and you will want some with the leftovers.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
Simple, tasty, wonderful! I like to add noodles to this dish, the sauce coats the pasta nicely. I also add a lot of fresh veggies- broccoli, red bell pepper, mushrooms, or snow peas. Whatever you have on hand, this recipe is great for adding extras; just be sure to double the sauce.

Sicilian Lemon Chicken with Raisin-Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
I liked it, my husband did not- he said raisins belong in desserts. I thought the sweet/spicy was a nice balance, though I would have appreciated more lemon in the chicken. I think next time I will marinate it in the lemon or add some lemon zest.

Loved it! Didn't need to change a thing, except to double the glaze recipe.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
This is awesome! I didn't have actual blue cheese on hand, so I used blue cheese dressing- made the dressing very creamy. I also use fresh garlic, onion, and mushrooms that I add with the chops (I use fast fry (thin) pork chops) and it always turns out great! I only gave it four stars because I think it needs the onions and mushrooms to round it out.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
I have made this several times and it is a big hit. My husband loves it! I always use dijon mustard and skinless chicken breasts, so it doesn't get nice and brown, but still tastes yummy.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
This is so good! The only way I cook asparagus now! It is a helpful hint though: don't leave the asparagus while its cooking! Depending on how thick it is, it could be done rather quickly. Instead, rely on the color: a minute or two after it turns bright bright green and right before it starts to brown is when it is perfect (we like ours semi-crisp). I also add a splash of white wine maybe 1 1/2 minutes before it's done.

Stir Fried Snow Peas and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
Very very good! My husband and brother said it was better than a chinese restaurant. I didn't have sesame seeds, so instead substituted the olive oil for a sesame/soybean oil blend... Was Amazing!

Baked Chicken and Brie

It was nice; my french husband prefers his brie with a baguette though. I added a couple cloves of garlic (sliced and placed on the chicken) and it was a nice addition.
