About this Cook
I am a 25-year-old vegetarian with a sizable sweet tooth. I don't "cook" whatsoever; my partner and I eat very simple meals. However, I love to bake sweets, so we always have something special for dessert.
My favorite things to cook
My favourite recipes invariably use sugar. I started out loving to bake sweet loaves, because they are so easy and always turn out great. These days I enjoy baking cakes for no apparent occasion.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating and cooking were never a big part of my childhood. My mother was, and is, incredible, but the kitchen was rarely the focal point of her day. As an adult, I have enjoyed learning to cook the basics. I do, however, have fond memories of my mother's casseroles, as well as her apple pies baked on special occasions.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that elicits auditory "Mmms!" from my partner.
My cooking tragedies
For some reason, I have the darndest time baking cookies; they are invariably either too raw or burnt to a crisp. I'm working on that, though :)

Raisin Lemon Cookies
I am going to give these cookies five stars for TASTE, but the presentation was not what I was looking for. The dough was very wet, and they spread out very thinly yet had a cakey texture. They tasted delicious, but I would have been embarrased to serve them or bring them to anything. I did really enjoy the taste though, so I could see us making them again. Thanks!

Winter Energy Cookies
Divine!! Very filling and hearty. I didn't have wheat germ on hand, so I substituted with flax seeds. No problems at all. Perfectly moist. Love these!!! Thanks
