Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2013
This is a great base recipe. I added a can of refried beans to thicken the recipe, less water, another can of tomatoes, and some more spices. Made with my usual Homesteader Cornbread from this site. Tastes great. So excited to eat tonight. Perfect rainy day food.

Roasted Cauliflower Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Great recipe. Cauliflower and nutmeg sure are a perfect marriage. I pureed some of the cauliflower with milk to make the soup thicker. My two year old even liked this. Thanks!

Fabuloso! I added raisins to the rolls and orange zest to the frosting.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This definitely isn't good for you, but it tastes awesome! The broccoli and brown rice I served this with, made me feel a little less guilty for making my family beef covered in sugar for dinner. I doubled the sauce by the way.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
Loved these. I liked the way they cracked and that they were chewy in the middle and crusty on the outside. Yum! Melted the butter like it said. Put the dough in the freezer for like 20 minutes before making balls and baking. I will make these again and again. My toddler and his friends loved them.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

As is, these recipes are good for a two year old. Additional spices like kosher salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil, make them taste good.

Peanut Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
I make stir fry often and was disappointed in this recipe. It wasn't very flavorful at all. Sorry!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I would probably give this a 2.5. My family didn't enjoy these and I just thought they were okay. Nothing to write home about. Sorry. I used black beans instead of kidney and added some corn. I think those things improved the recipe.

Chili Rubbed Pork Tenderloin With Apricot Ginger Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
I used one tenderloin that I seared and roasted instead of grilled. halfed the sauce and added less bbq sauce to highlight the apricot. The apricot preserves and chili powder blended nicely. Thanks for a great recipe! PS- didn't add hot sauce.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I'm shocked that this recipe received such good reviews. I used the whole ranch pack and I couldn't even taste it. I LOVE spicy food but this just tasted WAY too salty and REALLY HOT! I couldn't even finish my sandwich and neither could my husband. I used huge rolls and cheese which I thought would offset the heat. Sorry!

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was okay. Pumpkin has a lot of nutrients and my toddler seemed to like it. (I added a little brown sugar instead of honey for him.) I'll make this for him often.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This was pretty good. It's not a recipe I'd use often but it wasn't bad. I added a green bell pepper and more spices because by itself it was bland. Not sure if I'll make this again.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I'm surprised more people didn't write about how sopping they were from butter on the bottom. The overall taste was good, but they have WAY too much butter and that was unappetizing.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VII

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
My husband was craving something sweet and I had the ingredients for these. They were better than expected! I didn't have self-rising flour so I added some baking powder. Made a half a pan instead of a full. I will use this recipe again! This was a somewhat healthy treat. Thanks.

Garlic Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
I'm a fan of Lebanese food and cooking with yogurt so this dish was right up my alley. I didn't make the sauce, but served the Kebab with Armenian Rice Pilaf. (Not from this site.) Delish! Will make this again. PS- Don't skip out on the Coriander, it added to the recipe.
