American Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
I agree, this is a good basic recipe: I cut it in half, we're only 2 people, I used less green pepper, as I don't like too much, added the 4 hard boiled eggs, as someone suggested, grey poupon mustard, splash of rice vinegar, salt and pepper until it tasted good, little garlic powder, sweet onion and celery, AND I added about 3-4 crispy chopped bacon slices, low salt, you can see I only made a couple of additions to the basic recipe. I would certainly make this again.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2006
This was yummey, and very moist. Just stumbled across the recipe as I browsed. I added chopped walnuts, nice addition and made them in mini pans so I could give them away, I rate my recipes and this is a saver and a five star.

Lemon Meringue Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
I loved this pie, Was enough filling for 1 small pirex dish pie and enough for 2 little containers for pudding for lunch, so plenty for a regular pie, 9" size. I wish I read other reviews sooner, would have cut back maybe 1/4 C sugar on filling, next time, have made lemon meringue pie many times and never heard of stirring in egg whites into the filling, what a great idea, also, in reviews they say prevent weeping by cooling filling before putting topping on, I agree, again, I should have read reviews first, but I agree with that. But pie was delish, high, and pretty. I made a crisco crust and had enough left for a small pie shell that I froze, so I used that, but a store bought crust would work nicely as well, less work and mess. I would make this again. One large lemon grated was plenty to add, need not measure that part, but I did measure the lemon juice. Just lovin those 5 star recipes.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
I agree with everyone about how delish the pie is, and easy as well, but 2 cans gives you a little more than 2 cups, not three, I had to run out to buy a third to make pie as recipe states, I do have less than half can left, but hey, 3 Cups is 3 cups, not little over 2. I used regular limes as well, maybe took about 6 nice size limes. It looks lovely, nice and full in a Keebler shortbread crust. And I have a convection oven, and I cooked it 8 min. I didn't see bubbles either, but I giggled it and it seemed set. Conv. cooks 5 min. less pretty much anyway, but I did do 8 min. Can't wait to try it. I have made it a few times before but gave them away to friends, this one is mine, all mine. Enjoy :)

Super Moist Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
I give this 3 stars, it kind of grows on you. I did mini loafs, cook time differs, but no eggs "whats that about" is that a mistake? You can tell when you taste it somethings missing, but like I said, it grows on you by bite 3. Now I have all these loafs and trying to think who I can give them to. Would like feed back on this, or is it just me. "NO EGGS"????

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
I just made these muffins this a.m., kept seeing them on site, decided to try them since I had couple bananas. They were delish, very accurate. I have convection oven, they took 18 min. to cook, I only had 2 larger banana's so only used those, not 3 as mentioned. Yup, it only made 8 muffins, reg. size. They seem to bubble over a little on tin, so anticipating this I spreyed tin with pan for easy removal, that helped. Will make these again, mabe add walnuts next time, yum.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
I tried this cheese cake, YUM. HOWEVER, don't attempt it if your coming off a nap, I did and forgot the flour, It grew so huge in oven I feared it would overflow, not sure if thats normal or because I forgot the flour, the gluten protein thing, even though I made that mistake, leaving it in oven lowered it considerably, did not look gorgeous, but this a.m. I cut into it, put canned cherries on a piece and it was still YUMMEY. My husband agreed and asked me to slice the rest, decorate them with a spoon of cherrie pie filling and he would bring them to the party. So, I say, delish, easy, and don't forget the flour. :)

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This was very good, did not take as long as recipe suggested to cook, so watch it. Since it is split for stuffing, it takes less time, I wrapped in bacon also as one lady suggested, as well as bacon cooked inside, and bought a brick of flavored feta rather than plain. I doubled liquid, but it was too much, saved rest for another use. Was great leftover sliced for a sandwich or cut up in a salad. I would make it again.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This soup was delish. After using required measurements I found myself with a little of this and that left, just threw it in not to waste, did not make a difference in the end. I also decided to top each dish with a good spoonful of romano cheese, that added the finishing touch needed. My husband is a fan of minnestrone so he loved it, enough to freeze for a quick meal. The My grandaughter Jaime loved the fact I made "her soup" I would make it again.Mabe add a bit of ground beef next time for a twist.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
I just made these pancakes this a.m. had everything in house, I don't know what these people are eating, but I agree with one lady who rated them, they seemed raw inside, I am a good cook, and make pancakes and waffles often, one of my fav.'s is I Hope Pancakes, I got recipe on line, but these were awful, my husband ate his, he was hungry, but I found them almost raw inside and I browned them up nicely, the batter looked great, but I couldn't eat mine, won't be making them again. I also added vanilla suggested by one lady, good addition, but it didn't help with texture. Two stars because the batter looked great, but the pancakes were not. I am deleting the recipe from my recipe box.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
These were delish, and I have tried many recipes. Couple minor changes: I used mini chipes, only because I prefer them over larger ones, I used my cookie scoop to get more even size cookies so I was shy the 1/4 cup suggested, I cooked them in convection oven 12-13 min. and let cool nearly completely before removing to a rack. They came perfectly. Chopped nuts would be nice addition, but maybe next time. I will definately make these again now that I see how they spread and that I can use the scoop, I made notes for next time.
