About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was knee high, on a stool that I pulled over to the sink, every pot and pan pulled from the closet, also, in 5th grade my school had home ec. so we had cooking classes there which only added to my interest in cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I am a confort food cook, I love to bake the most. I am fortunate to have a husband that loves to eat what I make. He's a good sport and tries everything and together we rate my recipes for later use or not at all. I am over 60 now, still love cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday time I have always made spritz. My children, married with kids of there own always look foward to seeing them on the table. I now cook with our five grandchildren who pull a stool up to the counter just as I did as a little girl.
My cooking triumphs
There all a triumph as far as I am concerned.
My cooking tragedies
Many have gone down the disposal, but I will not be defeated and will try again moments later to get the result I want. "Who hasn't had a failure?" Expecially when its something you have never made, you make it once and then you know from there, make notes, and try again.

Key Lime Pie VII
I agree with everyone about how delish the pie is, and easy as well, but 2 cans gives you a little more than 2 cups, not three, I had to run out to buy a third to make pie as recipe states, I do have less than half can left, but hey, 3 Cups is 3 cups, not little over 2. I used regular limes as well, maybe took about 6 nice size limes. It looks lovely, nice and full in a Keebler shortbread crust. And I have a convection oven, and I cooked it 8 min. I didn't see bubbles either, but I giggled it and it seemed set. Conv. cooks 5 min. less pretty much anyway, but I did do 8 min. Can't wait to try it. I have made it a few times before but gave them away to friends, this one is mine, all mine. Enjoy :)

Lemon Meringue Pie III
I loved this pie, Was enough filling for 1 small pirex dish pie and enough for 2 little containers for pudding for lunch, so plenty for a regular pie, 9" size. I wish I read other reviews sooner, would have cut back maybe 1/4 C sugar on filling, next time, have made lemon meringue pie many times and never heard of stirring in egg whites into the filling, what a great idea, also, in reviews they say prevent weeping by cooling filling before putting topping on, I agree, again, I should have read reviews first, but I agree with that. But pie was delish, high, and pretty. I made a crisco crust and had enough left for a small pie shell that I froze, so I used that, but a store bought crust would work nicely as well, less work and mess. I would make this again. One large lemon grated was plenty to add, need not measure that part, but I did measure the lemon juice. Just lovin those 5 star recipes.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
These were delish, and I have tried many recipes. Couple minor changes: I used mini chipes, only because I prefer them over larger ones, I used my cookie scoop to get more even size cookies so I was shy the 1/4 cup suggested, I cooked them in convection oven 12-13 min. and let cool nearly completely before removing to a rack. They came perfectly. Chopped nuts would be nice addition, but maybe next time. I will definately make these again now that I see how they spread and that I can use the scoop, I made notes for next time.
