German Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
This is the first batch of fudge Ive ever attempted to make and it turned out wonderful.. The recipe was SUPER easy to follow and it turned out perfect..my only complaint is that it is a very sweet, rich fudge. If you're a first time fudge maker.. I would highly recommend this recipe!

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
OK.. so I think I've pretty much PERFECTED..I did it last night and it is the best home made mac and cheese I've ever had! I used 1 3/4 cup of milk and 1/4 cup heavy cream.. this made it extra creamy and yummy. I also blended in 2 cups of the suggested cheddar as well as 1 cup of provolone and 1 cup of mozzeralla...this made it even more creay and cheesy... I omitted the breadcrumb topping (TOO much breadcrumbs for me) and generously added more cheddar, mozzeralla, and provolone to the top before puting it into the oven... If you like easy, cheesy, and creamy mac and cheese..you will love this recipe with these modifications!

Lemon Lush

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
My mother has been making this recipe since I was a little girl..it is delisious! Very light and yummy! The only modification I would suggest (that my mother does) is add some crushed walnuts to the crust batter... TIP: MAKE THE CRUST.. as it is the best part of the recipe!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
I think this recipe has great potential with a few modifications.. first off, next time I will cut down on the lemon juice (lemon flavor was a little much for us) and add some minced garlic/garlic salt in its place...and second off, I will try it with mahi fillets.. im not a huge tilapia fan to begin with but i think the fish was to delicate for the creamy topping.. other than that this was a great recipe..!

Asparagus Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2007
This recipe was pretty good.. just be sure not to cook the asparagus on to high of heat (as i did!) and next time I think I will add a few cloves of minced garlic to the recipe as i think it will give it a little bit more flavor!

Mushroom and Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
Like previous reviews suggested, I combined the oil, vinegar, garlic, about a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar, and a little of the cajun seasoning in a slider bag and shook the chicken up in there nice and good.. after that I placed in the baking dish and sprinkled with a lot of the cajun seasoning.. this recipe was extremely easy to make, turned out great.. very very moist! this ones a keeper!

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I had the ingredients to make this recipe and had the urge to try it so I made it as an appetizer one night.. It was alright.. my boyfriend and I agreed that it was a little too spicy so i think if I made it next time I might use 1/2 of the amount of the red pepper and perhaps add some sugar to the recipe.. I think it would give it a good taste..

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This recipe turned out to be AWESOME! I think it was the buttermilk in the recipe that really did the trick! The cake was so moist..my boyfriend couldnt believe it was homemade. He was like "Did you really make this from scratch?" then he had a few more bites and his next words were "So, like you used flour and stuff to make this right?" :-D The only thing I did differently was omitted the raisins(just a personal preference). I thought to omit the pineapple because I wasnt sure how it would taste, but Im glad I didnt because you couldnt taste the pineapple, it just added a little kick of extra sweetness to it.. this one will be an Easter tradition...

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
This recipe was very good, dont get me wrong.. but it wasnt anything better than any other lasanga that I've had before. Like others, I omitted the salt and added a few dashes of nutmeg to the cheese mixture. I added shredded mozzeralla to the top of the dish to make it just a little extra cheesy and Im glad that I did... Im sure I will make this dish again, unless I come across one that is better.

Garlic Bread Mama Rita's Way!

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
This bread was great although I made a few modifications. First instead of using hoagie rolls, I just used a baguette and second, I doubled the cheese mixture and Im glad I did because it happened to be just enough. O yeah, and I added some shredded mozzeralla on top of the cheese mixture before broiling. MMMM..

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
When I first came across this recipe, it really didnt sound like anything to special to me...but my boyfriend really wanted me to make it so I gave in.. and boy was i wrong.. this dessert was AWESOME! I porued half a bottle of caramel over the first brownie layer and topped the whole thing off with some crushed heath bar and it was perfect! Also, it tastes MUCH better the next day (the brownies soften up) so if you are making it for a special occasion I reccomend that you do it a day ahead of time...Im sure I will be making this one again!

These muffins were pretty good but based on all of the reviews I was expecting a lot more.. The crumb topping was very good..but the muffins didnt turn out AS moist as I would have liked them to. I guess that could be my fault..
