About this Cook
Im 21 years old and I love to cook! I feel like Im a natural born. When my boyfriend and I first started dating I used to eat out lunch and dinner everyday! He told me that in order for thing to work between us, I would need to learn how to cook (he was being sarcastic or course) but I thought it sounded like a good idea because Ive always been interested anyway! So I started practicing in his kitchen while he's at work and we both absolutly love it!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to do in the kitchen is bake! Im guessing its because I have a huge sweet tooth!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother never really cooked growing up so thats why I take pride in what I have learned to do myself in the kitchen....however my grandma does have an awesome banana pudding recipe that I have looked foward to every thanksgiving since Ive been alive!
My cooking triumphs
...everytime I make myself, my family, and my boyfriend happy after a homecooked meal...
My cooking tragedies
One of the first times I was cooking for my boyfriend I was using the broiler and when I went to take the food out I used paper towels (not thinking).. well both of the paper towels caught on fire so I threw them down right on the kitchen floor.. INFRONT OF MY BOYFRIEND! Anyways.. the food was still really good to say the least!

Seven Layer Taco Dip
WOW this dip was amazing..and somewhat HEALTHY as well... I used fat free refried beans, low fat cream cheese, light sour cream, and multigrain tortilla chips to lessen up the calories! I first layed down the bean mixture, then the cream cheese/sour cream mixture. Then I topped that with some homemade guacamole (avacado is VERY good for you!) I then put the salsa on top of that and topped off with the tomoatos, green onions, green peppers(extra veggies), then the cheese and olives....everyone at our football party absolutly LOVED this dish. I would recommend it to anyone!

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll
Wow, this was great with a few modifications...I used a cookie sheet with edges (BE SURE too because the batter is runny like a reg cake and if your cookie sheet doesnt have elevated edges of course your batter will not be held up by anything)... I used the advice of another reviewer and lined the pan with parchment paper..when I took it out of the over i let it cool for 15-20 minutes the flipped the cake onto another sheet of parchment paper with powdered sugar sprinkled on it, then peeled off the parchment paper.. had no problems with sticking. I spread the cream cheese icing on and sprinkled crushed walnuts on top! Had no problems with cracking when I rolled it. Perfect recipe to make at this time of year! My boyfriend and his friends all loved it!

Garlic Butter
Wow.. I really wish I would have read the reviews before I made this! 1 tbsp of garlic salt is WAY TO MUCH! Especially since butter is already salted. I think next time if I used way less garlic salt, this would have an awesome flavor! The paprika and all the seasonings really give this butter a beautiful color.. excellent for presentation!
