Pulla (Finnish sweet buns), bread rolls, baked casseroles, pies (Quiche or Ham & Cheese or Apple), muffins...etc. In short, all sorts of BAKING!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cantonese slow-cooked soup, Singaporean chicken curry, Asian fried vermicelli noodle, Popiah (Fried Spring rolls), Hainanese Chicken Rice, Stir-fry Hakka "Abacus Seed" (Gnocchi Chinese-Hakka Style).
My cooking triumphs
Mango Cheesecake, Creme Caramel and Chocolate Mousse Cake are the ones that I have received most praises from!
My cooking tragedies
An undercooked creme caramel which overflowed my serving dish when I demoulded it from the silicon mould. It just collapsed on the plate!
It was undercooked though the surface was nicely browned and firm looking (so deceiving!)after being left in the fridge overnight. That was pretty disastrous but luckily my guests are not so fussy and they happily scooped the semi-liquid form mixture and still enjoyed the taste of the undercooked creme caramel!
