Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
I was SO happy to find a recipe just like my Nana's! Pull out your dutch oven for this and be sure to bring your milk to a boil slowly. That will ensure that your rice softens and the milk begins to reduce properly. I also used brown sugar and just a dash of salt- perfection! :D

Savory Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
Excellent recipe! I did use the balsamic vinegar like someone else suggested (just b/c I REALLY like balsamic). I also put the yolk mixture into a plastic bag, cut the tip off and piped it into the white half instead of spooning it in- very pretty. The entire doubled recipe was gone in less than 5 minutes after my family got to them. :)

Bird Rolls

Excellent recipe- and the kids REALLY enjoyed making the birdies. We added food coloring to ours to make little Blue Birds and for Easter I plan to make, pink, purple, blue and green ones! :)

Pretty good, but I'll not use mushrooms again. They completely dried out

Tia and David's Deep Fried Tortellini

Very good! They were a huge hit! I sprinkled a little garlic salt over the tortellini after I fried them. YUM!

Rockin' Oysters Rockefeller

I stuck to the recipe exactly but found the cheese to be overpowering. A little less next time and they should be perfect!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
The fruit was EXCELLENT! I used peach preserves and it was a total hit. The tortillas are what knocked the rating down a star. I made them exactly as the recipe specified and they were very chewy. I think I'll get the cinnamon chips from Trader Joe's as someone else advised.

Tangy Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
Really good tasting recipe! I didn't like the sauce at all when I was cooking it on the stovetop. But after brushing it onto the ribs, it really changed to a nice flavor. I cooked the ribs in the oven, but I must say that grilled is better. It chars the fat nicely, whereas the oven-cooked makes for a fattier rack.

Double Chocolate Mocha Trifle

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
If I could add more stars, I would!!! This is my family's/extended family's all time FAVORITE dessert. At Thanksgiving I am told to bring this (I triple and quadruple the recipe) and I have to hide it or my cousins get into it before they eat their meal. Every time I make it, I'm asked for the recipe so I've learned to keep copies of it in my purse. It even has its own trifle bowl now. :)

This is the creamiest banana pudding you will ever eat! I won't tell my grandmother, but it beats the socks off of hers. :)

Eggplant -- Easy, Good and Tasty

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
This is the ONLY eggplant DH likes. He calls them Eggplant Pizzas. I peel my eggplant FIRST to make it simpler, rather than after like the recipe calls for, and cut the slices a little thinner than 1/4 inch. It makes the slices extra crispy. I've even made them like this and then layered them in a pan with tomato sauce and mozzarella and made it like eggplant parmesan.

Onion Rings

You could not get any easier than this recipe. DH was so surprised that you can use pancake mix. I use my own home-grown onions and it all comes out perfect!

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
This recipe is WONDERFUL! I've been making it for years now, and am finally rating it. My vegetarian friends love it and I've even been commissioned to make a bunch of these for a party. I add an extra 8 ounce can of tomato sauce b/c it needs just a tad bit more for me. Also I use the Barilla no cook lasagna noodles to make it simple. YUMMY!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
This was truly the easiest/best chicken noodle soup yet. I made it for my sick DH who ate the whole pot over the weekend- it just kept getting better every day! I used canned broth (to me, better than stock) and pre-julienned carrots in a bag to make it even faster. It's a family favorite now!

Broccoli Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I loved this soup! It took no time at all to whip up and my DH who is soooo picky licked his bowl clean. I did like others and chopped my onions (fine) and added approx. 2 cups of cheese. Wonderful on a cold winter's night.
