About this Cook
I am a 41-year old divorced mother of two with a Masters in Urban Planning. I work a 40+ hour week and have successfully avoided the kitchen until I was 35!
My favorite things to cook
Anything in a microwave!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Still working on that one.
My cooking triumphs
Getting more than one item on the table at a time still hot and recognizable!
My cooking tragedies
For 15-years of marriage I had pretty much let my husband take the lead in the kitchen with no desire to figure out what was for dinner. Shortly after my divorce I knew I was in trouble in the kitchen when my 4-year old son walked past me while I was cooking and asked what I was making. When I told him pancakes he wrinkled his nose and told me to try and not burn them this time. Well, 4-years later, at the age of 8, he hasn’t starved; however, we will have great stories to tell the grandkids! LOL

Applesauce
Really like this as a starting point. I added a shot or so of brandy with a little less water. I added a little more cinnamon because we LOVE cinnamon and then I reduced the sugar by about half because I was using a fairly sweet apple. I'd suggest adding half of the sugar and taste and then add more until you're happy.

Curried Lentils
A little too sweet for us so next time I'm going to use less of the coconut cream. VERY easy recipe and a great way to get lentils in a picky kid!
