Sicilian Lentil Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Excellent. MUST add Italian Spices, even more basil and lots of salt/pepper. I also used canned tomatoes along with fresh tomatoes instead of tomato sauce, and substituted zucchini with bell peppers.

Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I've made these three times - with Spicy Corn Chowder, Chunky Potato Soup and the last time with my own Indian creation. Delicious! We always add one or two teaspoons of sugar to dissolve the yeast with because this helps get that nice fluffy rise. It is very plain, but we like it that way since we always eat it with a flavorful soup.

Chunky Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I added broccoli, used pepperjack cheese instead of swiss, and also added rosemary, thyme and garlic. I used one cup of heavy cream (just because I needed to get rid of it) and one cup of skim milk. Not sure if that made any difference, but it was still very good.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I make this with exquisite pizza sauce from this site. If you use the Kitchen Aid Mixer, this is pretty much no work, and is the best pizza I've ever had.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
I loved it but my husband couldn't get over brussels sprouts. Used roasted pecans and really carmelized the onions. The butter is a bit much so its not as healthy as you would think.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
you really can't screw this one up. I eyeballed all the measurements and added a spoon of sugar, until I thought it tasted right. Took no time at all to make - I used stewed tomato cans - and fresh basil, and turned out really delicious. Served with "easy foccacia" from this site.

Indian Dahl with Spinach

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2007
I love dahl and spinach and coconut - so I already knew I'd like this! I doubled the spices, added a little more than called for coconut milk, and thought it was just good that night. I had it again for lunch, and its really really good! The spices really blend together well overnight!

Pasta with Fresh Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
I added parmasan plus an italian blend of cheeses. And, I added garlic and lots of italian seasoning, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes for more flavor. I used Roasted Pepper Italian Dressing - and I added fresh vegetables like broccoli, mushroom, zucchini, bell pepper and olives. Quite healthy and pretty tasty! Thanks for sharing!

Pumpkin Roll III

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
Cold cake with sugary frosting inside. My boyfriend and my family and I didn't really like it, but I'm sure young kids would.

Tastes authentic, like the Pakora my mom makes. I add 35% more spice. Favorites are sweet potato and califlower.

very easy - used red, orange, yellow bellpepper, mushrooms and broccoli. Added slightly more ginger and garlic (fresh), served with basmati rice, and added pine nuts. No leftovers, quite healthy and tasty.

Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
I increased all the amounts of spices slightly and it turned out tasty. Despite what the other reviews said, I really think this tastes pretty authentic Indian - it's just like the "bhindi" (okra) my mom makes! Use fresh okra only though, or else it will be soggy.

Absolutely Perfect Palak Paneer

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
I made this dish for my first dinner party ever - I added a bit of whole milk at the end because it was too dry, used frozen spinach since its immensely quicker and just as good, and nearly doubled all the spices. I bought pre-fried paneer from an Indian Grocery. My friends said it was delicious, and I actually ran out of food!

Navratan Korma

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
Made this for my first dinner party ever - added coconut milk to the cream and milk, and also added pineapple at the end. I omitted the paneer since I made it with the Absolutely Amazing Palak Paneer from this site. I also omitted green beans and peas. The pineapple added a sweet, unique addition and much to my relief, everyone loved it - I actually ran out of food!

Coconut Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
I added double soy sauce, chile paste (with rooster on it), double curry powder, double salt, double ginger and double sugar. Also, baked tofu slightly before frying so its crispy. Added slightly steamed potatoes in fry pan, and some carrots with the ginger. Then added to boiling coconut curry mix, along with broccoli. And at the end, I added bok choy, some nuts and PINEAPPLE! I used half a can of pineapple, and it added a sweet flavor - delicious.

Banana Chip Muffins I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
I added a little more than 1/4 cup applesauce and reduced oil to 1/4 cup. Added 1 tsp of vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon of cinammon, nutmeg, and cloves. Also increased milk to 1/2. Used a little bit more banana and walnuts instead of chocolate chip. Done in 18 minutes and is quite moist and tasty.
