Primavera Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
I usually don't like pasta salad, but I love this one and so did my family. The only change I made was that I left out the carrots and mushrooms. DELISH!!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
I read the reviews before I started this recipe & here are my thoughts: This is VERY tasty gumbo. This will be my standby recipe. I followed the recipe as written and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it needs more meat. I read several of the reviews that said it was too thin, but gumbo is supposed to be a soup, not a gravy or a topping. After the batch was done, I added oysters, crabmeat & doubled the shrimp. Much better! Next time I make it, I will also add okra. BTW: Making Roux isn't hard, but to make it correctly, it is time consuming. If you are wondering how to serve gumbo or with what to serve it (I did), Here is what I found online: The most traditional way to eat it is to pour the soup over a scoop of cooked white rice & top w/ File’ (Google it for details) Then serve with French bread or cornbread, potato salad and/or a fresh salad. Good luck!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Wonderful recipe. It is really sweet, so be forewarned that you may want to scale back the sugar a bit. I prefer it sweet so I left the recipe as is. Usually I tweak a recipe to my liking, but this one was perfect. My family of 7 completely agreed! Tip: 6 slices of bread is equal to approximately 5 1/3 oz. of bread.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
Wow!!! As another reviewer said, I also got hooked on beer bread from a Tastefully Simple party and wanted a cheaper fix. I was quite skeptical about this bread because it just seemed too simple. Well, it is definitely simple, but it one of the best beer breads I have ever had! I like dark beer, so that is what I used in the bread. Awesome flavor! I can't overstate how good this bread is. I made it for a dinner party and everyone raved. I decided to give it as a gift at Christmas. (I posted a picture of my "gift" in the photo section of this recipe.) I got the bread pan and bags at the dollar store. I printed up gift tags on business card templates with my computer and on the back I printed the directions. In all, the whole package cost less than $4. I will be making & giving this bread for years to come!

Groovie Smoothie

DIRTY GROOVIE SMOOTHIE: (An excellent summer treat.) In the mood for a fabulously refreshing alcoholic beverage? Follow directions as written except, instead of using 3/4 cup milk, use 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup vodka (or rum) and 3 Tablespoons dry powdered milk. ENJOY!

Also, as many other reviewers have stated, I usually add some sugar or Splenda to the mix. ENJOY! I have been using this fabulous recipe for a couple of years now and everyone loves it. I often don't have the exact ingredients specified so I will substitute more strawberries for bananas, different fruit for strawberries, cottage cheese, vanilla and some sugar for yogurt, etc. It is a very easy smoothie to throw together with ingredients on hand. Thanks!

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
This recipe is easy & delish! I made it the 1st time as instructed. I love the Texas Roadhouse honey butter, so that is the taste & consistency I was looking for. This was close but a bit too sweet & the consistency was almost "frosting-like." The next time I made it, I used half the amount of confectioners' sugar. It was perfect! Just like Texas Roadhouse. Goes great with cornbread too!
