No Bake Cereal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Wow! These are very good and I love how quick they are. I did use cheerios instead of rice krispies. I also brought the corn syrup to a boil before adding in the sugar to prevent the hardness that others talked about. I made some with melted chocolate chips on top and some with raisins on top. Both varieties were good as well as just plain (I think I like them plain the best). Thanks for such a great & easy recipe! I will make these again and again.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
This lasagna recipe is amazing! It was very delicious, restaurant quality. My husband loved it. I will never look for another lasagna recipe. This one is perfect! I did use a 16 oz jar of spaghetti sauce instead of a 32 oz jar (Prego's Garlic & Mushroom).

Texas Sheet Cake V

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
I was very pleased! Best cake i've ever made from scratch. I used less sugar (1 2/3 c) in the cake, and used about 1/2 c whole wheat pastry flour to make it a little healthier. The frosting was excellent! It really makes the cake, which was super moist. I would agree the cake could have more chocolate flavor, but I still really liked it as is. I used a 9 x 13 pan to transport it easier and it worked just fine. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chicken and Rice Casserole II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
I liked this a lot! Comfort food at its best. We didn't have mushrooms, but I used fresh green beans and some frozen mixed veggies. It does need quite a bit salt and pepper. I could see myself taking this dish to new moms! It filled a 9 x 13 pan easily. This pregnant mama can't wait to eat it for lunch tomorrow!

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This was awesome!!! Easily the best roast I've ever had. Even for leftovers, it was so moist I ate it plain on a hotdog bun and it tasted great - no sauce or anything! I used a bone-in roast and spiced mango chutney from Walmart.

Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
This was incredible! I do the order a little differently. I pour the cake mix into a lightly buttered 13 x 9. Then I drain half of the liquid from a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple and pour the rest in over the cake mix. Then, I add the can of cherry pie filling. Lastly, the 1/2 stick of melted butter.

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
These were great!! To prevent crumbling, I did as another reviewer said about mixing in the oats a little at a time, and it worked. I only used 4 cups oats. I also used 1/2 whole wheat flour, 1/2 white flour, only about a 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips and a little under 1/3 cup brown sugar because I didn't want them to be too sweet. I also used raw honey - and I highly recommend that for GREAT honey flavor! Oh, and I accidentally forgot the vanilla. I took a pan to work and they were gone in less than 2 hours. They were very good and not crumbly at all. Oh, and I mixed by hand, too, to prevent crumbling.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
This chicken was the BEST I've ever made/eaten at home. The dark meat was awesome. My 2 & 4 yr old finished their portions and asked for seconds!! The white was a little over cooked at 1 hr 15 min, as the recipe said. But, I think our oven cooks a little hot. The only change I made was I only used 1 stick plus 3 T butter, instead of 1/2 cup margarine.

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This was great, just what I was looking for - a different way to make tuna salad. I only had 1/4 cup mayo on hand, so I substituted 1/4 cup plain yogurt. It was so good this way (and much healthier) I don't know that I'd ever want to try it with a 1/2 cup mayo!! I also used spicy brown mustard, I was out of dijon. I did add one hard boiled egg and used a little more pickle relish. I didn't have any croisssants, so I toasted my bread and added sliced tomato, too. SO YUMMY and satisfying!! Good on crackers, too!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
SO yummy! I've made other oatmeal apple crisps in the past, but this one was extraordinary! Love dirtying just one bowl, too! I barely used any white sugar, since I wanted the natural taste of the apples to come through. I also recommend Wholesome Sweeteners brand Organic brown sugar- a must have for baking!

Perfect Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2015
Wow- so juicy and tender! Everyone loved it. I cooked my 5+ pound roast frozen (mostly) on low for about 10 hours. I love this recipe because it is one of the few that doesn't contain soda pop!! It was slightly spicy alone, but when put with BBQ sauce, you couldn't tell. 7 kids ate it, including a one year old, with no complaints! Thanks for the great recipe! So simple and so good.

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2012
This was truly incredible!!!! Wow! Delicious! I added chicken, fresh broccoli and tomato. I didn't use ham and I used marble cheddar cheese since I didn't have Swiss. Even cold later it was fantastic. I don't think I will ever make a quiche with a crust again because this was perfect! And easy!

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2013
Tip: Buy the "If You Care" brand of muffin liners and they will never stick to anything! They come in a small brown box. I reduced the sugar a lot and used all whole wheat pastry flour. I'm surprised others are calling them 'healthy' due to the suggested amount of 24.4 grams of sugar in each muffin. Sugar is addictive. While lower in fat, with all due respect the sugar content makes them the opposite of healthy.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
This was great! My two-year old gobbled it up. I skipped the cream and the apple, for sake of time. Homemade chicken broth really does the trick, too! It said 6 servings, but my 3 kids and I barely had enough. Next time I'll add more broth. Very delicious, though!

Guacamole

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This was really excellent. I took it to a women's party and got many rave reviews. My only complaint is that the recipe says it will serve 4 people, so I doubled it. However, I altered it a little bit as I saw fit: I only put 1.5 limes in, instead of 2; 3 romas instead of 4. I thought the lime flavor was far over powering (but I liked it for my taste). And it ended up serving about 15 people at the party, and I still had a full bowl (15ish servings) to take home! It did not brown at all for me the next day, which was a plus because I enjoyed it so much!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
If I could add more stars I would!!!!!!!! SO delicious. I omitted the milk powder and I threw some fresh blueberries on the pancakes once they were cooking before I flipped them. My 4 yr old and 2 yr old and I all ate them without syrup!!

Banana Chocolate Chip Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
This was awesome!!! Everybody loved it- kids and adults alike. No need for whip cream or chocolate syrup either - perfect the way it was. I did use 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour and the rest white. I also used milk chocolate chips. And I did it all in the same bowl! Loved how quick it was to make AND bake!! I used my stoneware bar pan from Pampered chef and accidentally cooked it about 5 min too long, too, and it was still delicious!!

Chocolate Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2013
SO good! Very similar to the kind in a can, but much better and far richer. I use Dutch cocoa powder and more like 2 1/4 c powdered sugar and I kept the butter soft instead of melted and just mashed everything with a fork. I used it to frost a Duff chocolate cake mix (also the best!), cooked in a 9 x 13 and it worked great! Rave reviews from our guests, too!
