Fabulous Wet Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
I thought these were good, but maybe not fabulous due to the canned ingredients. I just prefer the made-from-scratch taste.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2008
I thought it had excellent flavor, but overall I thought it was too buttery and rich for such a mild fish. I will probably make this again, but I will reduce the butter.

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I thought these were okay. I used dried pasta instead of the frozen kind because it's what we had in the pantry. My husband liked them more than me. My 18 month-old liked them as well. I think it just had a strong broth taste for me, which I didn't care for. My tastes just prefer something with a little more flavor or variety.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I thought these were really good. My husband's first words were, "These are awesome!" They are comparable to a BBQ restaurant's beans in our town, which closed down so we can't get them anymore. I made a few changes due to what we had on hand: 2 cans baked beans (pork & beans) instead of pinto and garbanzo, I used 1/4 cup maple syrup instead of 1/2 cup molasses, and we were out of onion.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
This is pretty good. It's exactly what I was looking for. I halved the recipe and it made plenty for 3 doz. sugar cookies and had enough left over for about a 1/2 doz. more.

Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This was definitely easy. I made the following modifications according to what I had on hand: 2 lbs roast, 3 carrots, 1 celery stick & 4 potatoes. I let mine cook for 4 hours, but it was quite dry. This was my first roast, so I was leery of calling it done early; but I think it was done after 3 1/2 hours.

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
It was quick and easy. I think next time I may melt some cheese over the chicken for more flavor.

Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
This was good, but not quite as good as Cracker Barrel's, which is my all-time favorite (if anyone has this recipe, please share it with me :). It was pretty close though, I loved that it was cake-like. I did make a few changes based on others' comments. I used about 4 T sugar into the batter. I used 1/2 cup butter in place of shortening. I also made it in an 8 X 8 pan so I could make individual servings by cutting each square piece in half to put the toppings in the middle. For the whip cream I added in some powdered sugar. I served it warm with ice cream, strawberries & whip cream on top.

Quick Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
WOW! I loved it. Thank you for such a good tasting recipe. I did make some modifications, based on what I had on hand. I used about a 1/2 lb hamburger, whole wheat flour, a pre-made pie crust (Best Yet brand), & 6 slices of American cheese (3 mixed in & 3 on top). People's reviews really caused me to be leery of adding the chopped pickles, so I put them on 1 half of the pie. And I'm so glad I decided to use them because I loved it with the pickles. I thought the pie had great flavor. I do think I put a little too much cheese in, though. I made this late Saturday night and I couldn't wait to get home from church on Sunday to have it for lunch! Thank you again :)

Spinach Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
I'm not sure what went wrong with these enchiladas. My husband and I couldn't even finish our servings. I'm crazy about spinach and often eat it plain. They were pretty bland and made a weird consistency.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
I thought this was really good, but overall way too salty. I've made the Ranch & Bacon Betty Crocker boxed version for years, and this is just like it, only better with a fresher flavor. I love the concept of making my own, but I would definitely have to do things different to reduce the salty taste.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I thought these were pretty good. We ate them with sloppy joes and they have a nice flavor and held up well. However, I thought they were a little too dense for rolls.

Lattice Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
This just didn't go well for us. The croissant topping never got done. And to eat it without that part just didn't taste very good. I didn't separate the rolls to make a lattice, maybe that is why it never got done. I am not sure if that would've made a difference. The flavor was a bit bland for us as well.

No Bake Cereal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
Wow! These are very good and I love how quick they are. I did use cheerios instead of rice krispies. I also brought the corn syrup to a boil before adding in the sugar to prevent the hardness that others talked about. I made some with melted chocolate chips on top and some with raisins on top. Both varieties were good as well as just plain (I think I like them plain the best). Thanks for such a great & easy recipe! I will make these again and again.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
This was pretty good, very easy and quick to make. I also like it because it calls for very few ingredients. I served it over bowtie pasta. My husband added cajun seasoning and ate it on toast and liked it as well. The next day I heated it up for lunch and sprinkled seasoning salt on top and thought it was the perfect spice it needed to kick it up a notch.
