German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
Wow! I made this frosting with Dark Chocolate Cake II for my husband's birthday and it was fantastic! I did use 1 TBSP of cornstarch to help thicken and it came out perfect. I will be using this recipe again and again! UPDATE: I made this frosting again and used walnuts instead of pecans and I ran out of eggs so I used an egg beater in place of one of the egg yolks. It still turned out excellent! This frosting has instantly become a favorite!!!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
Loved this! I used good ol' NY peaches and nectarines and this came out so good! It was gone in less than a day. My 5 yr old said he doesn't like peaches but said he couldn't resist it after "smelling a delicious smell"! Thank you and we will be making this again!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2012
The kids were driving me nuts tonight so I made these brownies to get me through. They are amazing! Excellent! The only thing I did different is use a vegan buttery stick. I can't have dairy and they still turned out great! Thank you!!!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
This is the only brownie recipe I will use. I've been following this recipe for about 5 years now and they always turn out great. I don't use the frosting but I add chocolate chips and they are fantastic. I can't have dairy so we use a vegan butter and no one can tell the difference. These are the best brownies!

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This is so good! I used one can of whole corn and two creamed corn because I like it thicker. I didn't put the topping on and mixed it all in instead. Turned out great! My husband liked it and he normally won't eat stuff like this. He even went back for seconds. Next time I will try it without so much butter. I think it would be ok with less.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
I made this for a cookout and it was raved about! Really a great and easy recipe. I forgot to cover the beans for the first 1/2 hour they were in the oven so the top got a little crunchy but these were still excellent!

Caramel Apple Jam

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
I have made this twice now and it is so good! It tastes just like apple pie. I use my food chopper to chop the apples really small. This is really easy and it makes a great presentation in the jar. I'm planning on making this for Christmas gifts if I don't eat it all first!

Potato Minestrone

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
This soup tastes great and is super easy! I added an extra can of beef broth and used canned peas, drained. I used fresh carrots and put them in the crockpot in the beginning. There is no chopping required with this soup! Great for these cold fall/winter days. Thanks for such a great recipe!
