Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
I made these brownies tonight at work. I work in a home for terminally ill men and wanted to make them something sweet. Being that it is a non-for profit organization, we have a limited amount of funds, therefore a limited amount of ingredients to work with. I had to use some subsititutions. First, we had no cocoa, so I had to use extra melted chocoate chips instead. Since I did that, I added some cinnamon and walnuts to dress them up. They still came out great! I am going to make them at home, following the exact recipe, but I am sure they will turn out just as my family likes them. Thanks for sharing!

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This is an excellent, quick recipe that my children really enjoyed. The recipe calls for 3 12 oz cans of biscuits. I used 4 7 oz cans and didn't cut them. It worked out well. I baked it in a 9in round cake pan and I had to bake it a bit longer. Next time I will try a bundt pan. I also made icing and let those who wanted to ice thier pieces. Thanks for this quick and delicious recipe!

Ham N Egg Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This pizza was good but I made these changes. I used more than a cup of hash browns (enough to make a thin layer covering the crust.) ,, then a layer of cheese (I used the entire 2 cup package), added chopped onion and chopped green pepper to the ham, added a 2 extra eggs and added that layer, then sprinkled the parmesan cheese. It did take a little longer to bake with these changes (about 35 mins.) but I think it was delicious and only required one piece per person. Thank you for a great recipe!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This recipe was so simple and the beans were delicious. The best thing about it, I actually knew what I was eating. Canned items have so many preservetives that I am afraid to use them much. This takes the worry away without taking away the taste. Thank you!

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
These were an absolutely wonderful find! I have been looking for a way to make a healthier tortilla since my husband cannot have white bread. I used all whole wheat flour for his benefit, and omitted the salt (we haven't used it in years). I also followed another reviewer's advice and used olive oil instead of shortening. My family loves these tortillas and we have them often. Thank you!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
Good recipe! I changed a few things only because we do not eat red meat anymore but my son still loves meatloaf. I used ground turkey, brown sugar substitute and egg whites and it was still an excellent meatloaf! I did follow other reviewers advice and glazed the top instead of placing it on the bottom. Our family will be enjoying this again.

Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. I did make some changes, only because we are trying to make things more friendly for my diebetic husband. I used whole grain brown rice and omitted the salt. Also omitted the cabbage (personal preference) and replaced the sugar with splenda. I will absolutely make this again, thank you!

I have made these buns several times and every time, they get better! This is a wonderful basic recipe that you can add you own flavor to. One reviewer stated she would try sesame seeds and onion on top. I thought that sounded great and it was. Thanks for this delicious bun recipe.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
I gave this recipe 5 stars for versatility and taste. The dough was a little sticky as some others said, but if you flour your suface, they should rool out well. My daughter didn't even want me to frost hers, she said they were good as is!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
I have never been good at making loaf bread and it wasn't any different this time around. But that was baker error, NOT recipe error. I made half of the dough into a loaf and it didn't turn out so well but I made the other half into rolls for sandwiches and they were so good! This is going to be a staple for my family, thank you!

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
I was looking for a good recipe to make rolls for sandwiches. I took some other reviewers advice and made 8 oval shaped sandwich buns. The only thing I did differently was brush the tops with egg whites. I have to say that I am very pleased with the way these turned out! I ate one to make sure they were good and now I am going to have to make another batch as I am sure my family will want more! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe. **since my original review, I have made these with whole wheat flour since my husband cannot have white bread and still get excellent results! I recommend this recipe to anyone.**

Christmas Wreaths

I have always loved this recipe and lost it in a move. I am so glad to find it here! I agree with another reviewer who stated to add corn flakes as needed to avoid a mess and to spray wax paper with a non stick cooking spray. Thanks for a great holiday favorite!

This was a great, affordable and quick recipe. I subsituted hash browns and pizza sauce, and it was delicious! Also sprinkled with bacon bits and parmesan cheese as that is what we normally do to pizza. Excellent recipe that will be saved to my recipe box. Thank you for sharing!
