Simple Scones

I made the cherry almond variation and they were delicious! No leftovers! I used fat free sour cream and cholesterol free egg product and they still had a great texture and wonderful flavor.

A little tip with the cream cheese/milk blending. I noticed that a lof of people have posted complaints about lumps. The trick is to not put the cream cheese with all 4 C. of milk or you will get lumps no matter how high you turn on the blender. Mix all of the cream cheese with a small amount of milk until smooth and slowly add the rest of the milk while blending and the mixture will stay smooth. I hope this helps!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Neither my husband or I liked this recipe. I'm sure that part of it was personal taste preference and part was my messing it up. I didn't fry the eggplant slices since we don't like fried food so it changed the texture overall. I won't make this again, but I probably would if I actually liked eggplant in this type of dish. Overall I am giving it three stars because it wasn't very easy to prepare and the time spent on it wasn't worth it. I would score it lower, but I know that others love this recipe and have had great success.

Cranberry Stuffed Turkey Breasts

I changed the recipe to use apples in the stuffing instead of cranberries. They turned out okay. Good recipe but not a wow recipe. I would make it again though.

Fish Tacos

Big hit at our home! The sauce was excellent, much tastier than the simple yogurt/mayo sauce without the spices. We used fish sticks for our fish since that's what we had and they were great! We just baked them according to the package directions and served them up with corn tortillas and cabbage. Excellent!

Hot Spiced Cider

Great Christmas party drink. We had this at our annual ornament exchange and it was spiced very nicely. I didn't add any sugar because I like the natural flavor of apple juice. Sugar wasn't necessary at all. Everyone loved it!

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Great recipe! I don't like sweet potatoes at all and this wasn't my favorite dish, but everyone else loved it! I made it for a dinner party and again for Thanksgiving just because others liked it so well. Even though I don't like sweet potatoes, I did like the topping!

Apricot Peach Smoothies

Very good recipe!! We're having this for breakfast more often! We substituted 1 C. of silken tofu for the plain yogurt and it was delicious. My husband hates tofu and even he said it was yummy. I liked the addition of the lemon peel, my husband couldn't even tell it was there though so I don't think it's a necessary ingredient. So if you don't have it, don't worry about it. We were able to buy apricot nectar in little juice boxes that are perfect for making this recipe.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Not a cinnabon, but very good! We have already made this recipe twice and I just downloaded it three days ago! I have a few suggestions though...1 T. of cinnamon was plenty. Also, we did one batch in a glass dish and the other in a metal cake pan and the glass dish batch turned out better. Finally, we mixed the butter with the cinnamon and sugar and then spread it on in our first batch. They turned out great and it was easier to do it this way. The batch where we spread the butter on first and then sprinkled the sugar mixture over the top wasn't as good because the sauce ran out the bottom and crystalized on the bottom of the pan. Still good, but not as good. The icing was delicious! I licked every spoon and beater clean!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I didn't have the best outcome with this pie, which was a bad thing since I made it to serve for Thanksgiving last year (I'm just now getting around to giving the recipe a rating, sorry). The syrup was a disaster! I poured it into the pie thinking that it would thicken up as it baked, but it didn't so when I transported the pie to the house where our dinner took place, it ran out onto the lattice crust strips. When we cut it, the sauce just ran back into the pan. We had to use a spoon to dish up the sauce. I gave this a rating of 3 because the taste was good even if it was a mess. Plus, I don't know if it was just a fluke that I messed it up or if the pie really is this way for everyone. Either way, I won't make this again.

Restaurant-Style Tequila Lime Chicken

Very tasty! We marinated the meat for about 4 hours and it was very flavorful. However, I'd decrease the amount of liquid smoke because it dominated the flavors a little too much for my tastes. Also, we omitted the tequila. We followed the suggestions of others and just mixed salsa with ranch dressing to make the sauce. We ended up dipping chips in the sauce for an appetizer while we waited for the chicken to cook! We'll make this again!

Blueberry Cherry Pie

Absolutely fantastic!! My neighbor just returned from a trip to Michigan and brought back fresh blueberries and cherries for me. I decided to make a pie since I knew that I wouldn't be able to eat all of the berries before they went bad. This one was a perfect fit. I did change one thing in the recipe and that's the sugar amount. I decreased it to 3/4 C. and that was plenty! Just the right amount in my opinion. The only suggestion that I'd give would be to wear gloves when you pit the cherries. My fingernails are stained with cherry juice! I'll definitely make this again!

Rocky Road Ice Cream

This is such a delicious ice cream!! I don't know why it is only rated at 4 stars. Maybe some mistakes happened or maybe it just wasn't what others expected, but I thought it was absolutely fabulous!! Very creamy and had lots of chocolate flavor! The marshmallows were great too!

Asian Roll Lettuce Wrap

Great flavors. My husband and I both enjoyed these. Grilling the meatballs was a bit difficult, but I'm sure that's our fault and had nothing to do with the recipe. Still good as leftovers.
