I didn't have the best outcome with this pie, which was a bad thing since I made it to serve for Thanksgiving last year (I'm just now getting around to giving the recipe a rating, sorry). The syrup was a disaster! I poured it into the pie thinking that it would thicken up as it baked, but it didn't so when I transported the pie to the house where our dinner took place, it ran out onto the lattice crust strips. When we cut it, the sauce just ran back into the pan. We had to use a spoon to dish up the sauce. I gave this a rating of 3 because the taste was good even if it was a mess. Plus, I don't know if it was just a fluke that I messed it up or if the pie really is this way for everyone. Either way, I won't make this again.
