Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Great combination of flavor! One note after making two very different batches: packing down the brown sugar results in shorter, more dense muffins, while not packing it down (less brown sugar) gives fluffier, cake-like muffins. Great recipe as is.

Spicy Tomato and Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
Wondeful soup! I used two peppers instead of one, and replaced the can of stew tomatoes with four fresh large tomatoes. Great kick!

Spiced Quinoa

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I was looking for a dish that used quinoa, and this satisfies my desire for both high fiber and high protein. This tasty dish relies on the spices added for the great flavor, so it's low in calories. I ended up using pinto beans instead, and it still tasted great. It didn't take me anywhere near 45 minutes either. Great recipe.

Wonderful, easy recipe! Allow several hours if not overnight for the flavors to blend.

Best guacamole recipe I've used. Include the cayenne if you like it spicy -- GREAT results!!!

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Made the recipe as you see. I wished the type of pear had been included, as size varies from one variety to another. When you combine the blue cheese and pear, the gray-blue color is fairly unappetizing, and I'm not sure why the cream is there -- it just made the mixture soupy and soaked through the phyllo. The taste was alright, texture was good.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly and enjoyed the results. A little too much work for tacos to be a 5 star in my book.

Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Sorry, I deviated from the recipe: I used blue Hawaiian punch in place of the drink mix and ginger ale for the carbonated beverage. Turned out very well, not ridiculously sweet like I was fearing.

Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
I followed someone else's advice and spread apricot preserves between the two layers: DELICIOUS! It served well with pears, apples, and French bread slices.

Baklava

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Great baklava, but I made the mistake of serving it immediately after making it, so some of the layers didn't stay together. It held its form much better the next day.

Followed the recipe exactly without issue. I was a little concerned about the limited amount of liquid, but it was perfect. Everyone loved them!

Apricot Brown Sugar Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
I took others' suggestions and made this in the crockpot: low for 4 hours. It came out wonderfully moist and falling off the bone, but the glaze didn't come to fruition -- too much stock in the bottom I think. Great recipe though!

World's Best Lasagna

My husband and I lovingly call this 3 hour lasagna. I've made this twice now, following the recipe both times. Wonderful lasagna, just know there's nothing quick about it.

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
GREAT recipe! This recipe made picture perfect cookies, and you can easily taste both the peanut butter and chocolate in every bite. Crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside -- awesome. I took others suggestion and added 1tsp vanilla and 1/2tsp salt; I also used real butter in place of margarine.

Pork Chile Rojo (Pulled Pork with Red Chile Sauce)

I listened to other reviews and used only one jar of salsa. Other than that, I followed the recipe and the result was delicious! We served this on tortillas like a burrito or taco: messy, but tasty!
