Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
Tasty cake, but really not what you expect of angel food cake. This tasted heavily of eggs, and though I whipped the white and sugar til stiff peaks formed, the texture was still a little dense. Not very sweet.

Apricot Brown Sugar Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
I took others' suggestions and made this in the crockpot: low for 4 hours. It came out wonderfully moist and falling off the bone, but the glaze didn't come to fruition -- too much stock in the bottom I think. Great recipe though!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
My husband and I lovingly call this 3 hour lasagna. I've made this twice now, following the recipe both times. Wonderful lasagna, just know there's nothing quick about it.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Great recipe! I followed as it was written to good results. My suggestions: use freshly ground cloves (or at least a new bottle) and consider making 2 loaves instead of 3: mine tended to be very short.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

I followed the recipe exactly and enjoyed the results. A little too much work for tacos to be a 5 star in my book.

Wonderful, easy recipe! Allow several hours if not overnight for the flavors to blend.

Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Sorry, I deviated from the recipe: I used blue Hawaiian punch in place of the drink mix and ginger ale for the carbonated beverage. Turned out very well, not ridiculously sweet like I was fearing.

Blue Cheese and Pear Tartlets

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Made the recipe as you see. I wished the type of pear had been included, as size varies from one variety to another. When you combine the blue cheese and pear, the gray-blue color is fairly unappetizing, and I'm not sure why the cream is there -- it just made the mixture soupy and soaked through the phyllo. The taste was alright, texture was good.

Very easy, very flavorful. I used a Corona for the beer, and it turned out really well.

Jeanie's Falafel

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
Very simply, they did not turn out well. Maybe I didn't use enough water, but after a few seconds in the frying pan, each falafel fell apart. We try to salvage them, but it was a disaster.

WONDERFUL!!! No one could eat just one or two -- the party ate them til they were gone. Great combination of savory and sweet.

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
GREAT recipe! This recipe made picture perfect cookies, and you can easily taste both the peanut butter and chocolate in every bite. Crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside -- awesome. I took others suggestion and added 1tsp vanilla and 1/2tsp salt; I also used real butter in place of margarine.

Spiced Quinoa

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I was looking for a dish that used quinoa, and this satisfies my desire for both high fiber and high protein. This tasty dish relies on the spices added for the great flavor, so it's low in calories. I ended up using pinto beans instead, and it still tasted great. It didn't take me anywhere near 45 minutes either. Great recipe.

Quinoa Tabbouleh

Very tasty, perhaps a little too much parsley. I made the mistake of making this in January: this is a summer dish -- eat in warm weather to really appreciate its fresh flavors.
