Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
My son wanted carrot cake for 19th birthday. Always look at this website for new recipes. This was a great recipe. Time consuming but well worth it. To make it easier baked in 9 X 13 pan and used Cream Cheese Frosting II. Do not need to use all the frosting as it can take away from the great taste of the cake.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I made the lasagna and found it to be good. BONUS - I prefer to just make the sauce and it replaced my spaghetti sauce. Easy to make and the simmering makes the meat so tender. I used to buy spaghetti sauce in the jar and add extra ingredients but no more-this is so easy and in the long run it really doesn't cost more. It is a hit with our family!

Heavenly Blueberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Tasty Smoothie! I use 2 bananas and do not freeze them as I feel the flavor comes out better this way. I also do not use honey due to allergic reaction but this tastes great anyways!! This recipe has been a heaven send on our hot summer nights as a "sweet treat" rather than reaching for the ice cream. Also instead of blueberries try frozen strawberries. Just as good!

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
I have made these several times over the last several years. They are always a HIT. The last time I made them for a pot luck luncheon at work, however, we had our weekly meeting in the morning and they never made it to the kitchen for lunch!! But we did enjoy them for breakfast!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
This is such a great pie. Be sure to use all of the apples though it may seem to be too much, they will cook down. I had a fear of making the latice top crust but it was very easy and looks great. My family was so impressed not only with the appearance but with the flavor. (Looks like it was just picked up from the bakery but tastes better!!)

I made a few batches of this for Christmas. Very quick and easy. Like other reviewers I added a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter. This adds a great taste!

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Full of flavor. Used ham bone from spiral ham with lots of meat left over. Did not use potato and the soup was plenty thick. I didn't have marjoram but used 2 bay leaves while broth was simmering.

My family loved this recipe. I doubled the amount of tuna and I added a pkg. of frozen peas for added color and flavor.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
This was a very easy marinade. I tasted it before pouring on salmon and thought it would be too strong. But once I grilled it it turned out delicious. Will definitely use again rather than my usual bottled marinade. Thanks!!

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
This is one of the first recipes I made since visiting this website in 2006. It is easy to make and delicious. My family along with coworkers just love it! I, as with other readers, sprinkle sifted 10X sugar to dress it up. I can always count on allrecipes.com when I am looking for ideas; whether it is a new recipe or one of the many I come back to all the time - like this one!

Linguine and Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
I agree with a previous reviewer. I have to compare this favorably with what would be served in a restaurant. And to top it off it is soooo easy and also inexpensive to make!

This was an easy recipe. My son loved it as is, but I also had cherry pie filling to top it off on the side for anyone who wished. Delicious!

Baked Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
These sweet potatoes were so good and easy to make. I was planning on just baking the sweet potatoes with butter and brown sugar but something made me look at this recipe and I was pleasantly suprised. It made a great vegetable dish and healthy also!

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
5 star recipe! I'm sorry but I would never add oil or whole eggs to this recipe as was previously mentioned. It was so delicious as is. Very moist and just the right amount of lemon flavor. I made this for my sons 25th birthday (he wanted something out of the ordinary and I'm always up for something new.) He said this was the best cake he ever had! I will definitely be making this cake often!
