Caramel Frosting VI

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
Great recipe- but I had the opposite problem that other commenters did: It set up REALLY fast, and was much more of a frosting than a glaze. Didn't make enough to frost a 3 layer cake, and was too thick to spread down the sides. However, just used it on the top- and it was Amazing! Put it on the Pecan Pie cake from Pintrest. I think maybe I beat it too long, and that might be why it got so much thicker.

Chicken Salad Panini

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Really tasty! Added a smidge of chopped red onion to the salad, and omitted the pecans. Good hot or cold! Used thick slices of french bread, buttering the outsides- will make again!

Turkey Avocado Panini

Even the kids LOVED it! Did add bacon and thinly sliced red onion, and had to use white american cheese. Also sprinkled with some season-all jus to add a little extra spice. WONDERFUL!

Shrimp Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Followed the recipe pretty close, with a few changes. For veggies, I shredded some carrots, added edamame and chopped yellow bell pepper. The only other change I made was cooking the egg in a bit of oil in a seperate pan- the pan was so full I just couldn't fit it! Added it in at the end with the sauce already cooked- VERY GOOD! I did not add the extra salt, either, and didn't miss it at all.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
I used 3 cans of 7.5 oz biscuits, instead of the larger ones. Halved the remaining ingredients, because I didn't need as much sugar/cin mix or sauce. Only took 30 min. to cook in the bundt pan- wonderful!! This will be a new family favorite!

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
Did 2 9" pies in deep dish pie shells. I also did some leftover diced chicken instead of the ham, because I didn't have any ham. EXCELLENT recipe! I did layer, according to the directions, but I think it would work as well with just mixing it all together.

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2008
I made a few changes, and this was fantastic! First, I heated 1 tbsp. EVOO with one clove pressed fresh garlic in the pan until it was golden and fragrent. I then added some dried rosemary, salt and pepper, and some dried onions. I let all that simmer together for about 3 min. Next, I mixed some Nature's seasoning (or any season all you like) with the flour- it was pretty heavily seasoned. I then seasoned both sides of the chops with the Nature's seasoning before dredging in the flour. Before adding the chops to the browning pan, I added 1 tbsp. of butter to the oil mixture and stirred everything up. Then I browned the chops for about 5 min. on both sides. Once done, I mixed the soup and sour cream together, adding some garlic salt and a pinch more rosemary to the soup mix. I put that on top of the chops, covered, and lowered the temp. to "low" and let it simmer for about 50 min. I turned them every 15 min, as suggested. Served over rice- WONDERFUL!

French Ham Cheese and Egg Fondue Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Tasted good, but didn't fluff up as much as I'd hoped. Next time, I think I'll use regular white bread rather than the day-old french bread loaf. Also- cooking time is short- I added an egg only, and it wasn't done after an hour- needs probably an hour 15. Tasty thought- I'd like to try it again!

good start- I did add a couple of drops of sesame oil to it. Would even be good with a bit of cabbage or carrots in it.

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I'd give this one 10 stars if it was an option! This is one of the best recipes on this site. I made it this morning as a special valentine's breakfast for the family- served it with fresh fruit on the side. SOOOO GOOD! It was so easy- this is our new company/special occasion breakfast- more fun that tne traditional breakfast casserole, and less effort!

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Awesome! I didn't have any ham, so I used chopped chicken instead- very good with the broccoli! My kids also helped with this one, it's a great one for "kids in the kitchen". I'll be making it often, varying the ingredients for a different taste. Maybe bacon, mushroom, and tomato!

Quiche (Southern Egg Pie)

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I let my kids help make this one- they loved it! Very easy, I didn't have any ham, though- so I subbed some chopped chicken. Really good- my whole kitchen smells awesome! I also just made it in a square glass baking dish, and it worked fine. Temp & cooking time was right on. I'll be using this again and varying the ingredients for fun.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
this was good- used it for a little girl's tea party. It's very rich for a fruit salad, though- a little goes a long way! I used pineapple, blueberries, banana, strawberries, and mandarine oranges. Doesn't last more than one day- not good leftovers.
