Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
Easy and yummy. I followed the other reviews and did not dredge in flour, did add a little cornstarch at the end. My picky kids did not like but my husband and I loved it. Will make again.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I followed other reviewers recommendations and added 1/2 packet of onion soup mix, beef bouillion, garlic powder, doubled the water and worchestershire, and dollup of sour cream. This was awesome. Not even a big fan of beef stroganoff but totally a keeper. Can't wait to make again. (someone probably just needs to make a new recipe with these recommendations...)

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
This was just strange. The smell of the meat cooking in the root beer all day was very unpleasant. I thought the root beer would make the meat sweet but it really didn't. I forced myself to eat it because I hated wasting it! My husband thought it was fine but I just couldn't get over the root beer taste. I followed the recipe exactly. Will not make again.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
Reminded me of chicken tortilla or enchilada soup. Worth making and really good. I accidently left out the chili powder and my husband and I were thinking well it's okay but not that great...then I remembered and threw some in and it was amazing the difference it made! I used alot more sour cream too, made it even better! This makes a huge quantity, so I froze half in freezer bags to eat later...yum.

Slow-Cooked Sweet 'n' Sour Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Sooo good. I actually doubled the recipe and after I browned the pork on the stove-top, I put 1/2 the recipe in a freezer bag to throw in the crockpot on a later date. I didn't have any worchestire and it's still super good. I did add a little more sugar just to my own liking. I'll make this again.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
So good. I've never made au gratin potatoes before b/c I thought it would be too time consuming but not at all. These were super easy and great. Wouldn't change a thing.

Corn Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I think the key to this is to use American cheese (you can buy it without the plastic on the individual slices). I don't know why it is so much better than Velveta. I usually shred it. I never stir mine in the oven either. I just let it cook around an hour and it's perfect everytime! It's the dish I always take to potlucks. So easy!

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
This was good but did totally fall apart. It's not something you would want to serve to people other than your family b/c is not appealing to the eyes! I think it has to do with all the grease. I didn't add the sugar to the meat but did to the glaze and it was plenty sweet. I can't imagine how sweet it would be in the meat. But it tasted great for meatloaf!

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
So so so good. I'm not a baker at all and it turned out great. It did sink in the middle but still tasted like the best bananana bread I've ever had.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
OH MY GOODNESS...this was SO good. It might have been the best thing I have ever made and I love to cook! Easy too, doesn't take long to make. The only changes I made was I didn't add garlic (b/c we don't like) just added garlic salt and powder, and I added a little sugar to the tomato mixture. I also used cheese ravioli b/c the store was out of tortellini. We added some grilled chicken too. My new favorite meal!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
These are THE BEST mixed with pasta, extra olive oil and butter, lemon juice, and parmesan cheese. Even better with grilled chicken. One of our summer favorites. Tastes like it came from a good italian restaraunt...

Three Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
This was great. I added a can of spicy chili instead of chili beans and used brats instead of hot dogs. SO good. I'm pregnant and craving spicy so I might have thought it was better than it really was. My husband liked it though! We ate it as a main dish but it would be a great side to take to a potluck. Reminded me of a "settler's beans" recipe.

Tangy Turkey and Swiss Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
These were good but not as good as I expected. I didn't add the onion...maybe that was why. My husband didn't care for them.

Pumpkin Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
These were just okay. They sounded SO good...I guess I had them built up in my mind. I keep thinking I did something wrong. They seemed like they had too much flour. My husband liked them but I don't they were worth the effort.
