Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
Yummy!!! I have made this twice (so far). I love coming home to this cooking in the crock pot because all I have to do after work is make rice then it is time to eat. I usually do all the prep work the night before and keep all the components (veggies, chicken, sausage, liquid w/ spices) separate until the morning when I just throw it in the crock pot. One thing I change is I don't add the shrimp. Also, Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning is fabulous sprinkled on top when serving. EDIT: 19 Nov 07 - I just made this and to solve the "soupy" problem I used a turkey baster to take all the liquid out and used it to make rice in a seperate pot. When I previously tried to add rice to the crockpot it came out undercooked and there was no more liquid to finish the rice. But now after I make it seperatly then mix it, everything is perfect!

No Fuss Shredded Beef Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2012
I thought this recipe was awesome! I did not have the chili-seasoned diced tomatoes, I just used regular canned diced tomatoes and upped the chili powder amount to 1 Tbsp. Once the meat was done cooking I put everything EXCEPT the meat into a pot on the stove and simmered it down. Once the most of the liquid evaporated I used an immersion blender to puree the tomatoes and onions. Then I returned everything back to the slow cooker and kept it on warm till it was time to eat. My family loved it. I served it with shreded oxaca cheese and diced onions and cilantro.

Red Wine Reduction Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
My husband and I have been searching a long time for the perfect red wine sauce to go on top of any steak and we have found it! I followed the recipe exactly and the result was spectacular. It was the best steak sauce I have ever made or paid for, and it is not that hard. I put the sauce on top of a filet with sautéed onions & cremini mushrooms and as gravy for the mashed potatoes, it was perfect. I would definitely recommend this recipe

Spicy Chicken and Cilantro Wontons

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I made these last week, it was a little tedious but well worth the effort. for me the recipe made about 60 to 70 wontons. I did freeze them before I fried them. They turned out great and I made it with the Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce from this website.

I loved this!!! I made everything as stated and I thought it was perfect. My husband thought the rice was a little sweet, so I will probably cut down on the sugar next time, and there will be a next time!

Wine Jelly

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
I made this with a cheap cabernet sauvignon. I doubted myself when it came to the jelly setting, so I opened all my jars and re-boiled everything. I wish I hadn't, the only part that didn't set was a little bit on top; everything else was fine. I ate it on regular toast with butter. I can't wait to try it with cream cheese and crackers!
