Mom's Excellent Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
I've been making choc chip cookies for many years. My recipe is almost exactly like this one but I only use 1/2 cup shortening in mine. Just omit the butter and then they will be perfect :)

Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
This recipe is excellent, it's very sweet, so I added 1/2 tsp of salt, whipped it really well and add half the powdered sugar and vanilla, add half of the milk and the rest of the sugar until the consistency is just right, it does make a lot! This frosting is better than any other frosting I have tried and taste as good, if not better than most bakeries. I just love this recipe!!!

Rolling Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
This was my 1st time making fondant - I've always used buttercream in the past but we wanted something extra special for baby's 1st birthday so I tried this recipe and I'm glad I did! It rolls like a dream and was so easy to use. It's very sweet and decorates cake beautifully!! UPDATE: The more I use this fondant the easier it gets and the better my cakes look. I love this recipe and now I only use fondant :)

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
We took Krista's advise and made some using cocoa, so we could have a variety and they all came out great. We used buttercream to decorate tops instead of choc filling to make halloween designs, next time we will make them with the choc filling. My kids loved them. Thanks for sharing!

Streusel Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
The only thing I did differently was I did not mash the potatoes, I cubed them and I sprinkled the crumb mixture on potatoes first then topped with mini marshmallows. My family love it and now this is going to be part of our family's traditional thanksgiving dinner! Thanks!!!

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
It is so easy to make and taste great! I chilled each layer separately and use 8 oz pkg of cream cheese, a whole tub of whipped topping, 2 large pudding mix boxes and the large can of libby's pumpkin pie mix, saves money and already comes with the spices. It makes enough for 2 pies, one for our extended family's thankgiving gathering and kept one for my family. Everyone loves this pie!

Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
These cookies are good but the cinnamon taste was a little over-powering and cookies were crispy, hence the 4 stars. Made a second batch with a few changes - rolled dough in mixture of 1/4 cup sugar with 2 tsp of cinnamon and replaced the shortening with butter, we like a softer cookie without the cracks. Baked at 375 for 8 mins, came out better.

This is the first time I ever made a frosting like this one. I was looking for a white fluffy frosting for my new years cake, like a cake I seen online. It's light and fluffy and taste like marshmallow. Just what I was looking for. It was very good!!

Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Ok, I tried this recipe this weekend to decorate sugar cookies for a baby shower cookie bouquet I made. I am not a great artist but it was easy to use, even for me. I did have to add a few more drops of milk to get the right consistency, but once I did, I loved it. And it taste good too!
