Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
Everyone was right- this has too much butter as written. Very greasy and takes away from the peanut butter flavor. With less butter this would be 5 stars, and many people are giving it 5 stars after they modified it. Do yourself a favor and cut back on the butter.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I have always wanted to use fondant but have been afraid of it. This is the perfect recipe! Very easy! I followed it exactly & it was wonderful. Keep in mind it takes a little practice getting fondant on a cake perfectly flat. I had a few little tears near the bottom of my round cake so I rolled different colors of fondant into balls & circled the cake with them. It was easy to make cut-outs for the cake too. Thanks!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I wish I had read the reviews first like I usually do. Like others, mine was a soggy mess. I couldn't even flip the pieces because they were falling apart. Too eggy for me too; more like a soggy bread pudding. If you make mods to the recipe please don't give it 5 stars- it's misleading. This needs a lot of modifications to be good.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This really is as good as everyone claims. My DH (who doesn't like pumpkin) ate about half of one loaf by himself. I did add some pecans & coconut to one loaf that another recipe had suggested but really it was great as written.

Turkey Salad Tortillas

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
Wonderful! Perfect for days in Texas when you can't turn the oven on. I did half sour cream for the mayo but followed the rest of the recipe exactly. My DH ate 4 and said he loved the sauce. My 2 kids who hate salsa loved it as well. (I didn't tell them there was salsa in it!) Easy to adapt and add your own favorite ingredients like black beans or cilantro. Definitely going to put this one in the rotation. Thanks!

Cheddar Herb Bread

This was fabulous and so easy! I used Smart Balance as well and it turned out great. No on knew the difference. Mine cooked a bit faster so just watch you time. We will be doing this often! Thanks!

Asian Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
My family loved this recipe. Even my hubby who doesn't really care for rice said he loved it and went back for seconds. The texture is different from normal rice but it's supposed to be. I did omit the sugar and felt it was great w/o it. Thanks!

No Bake Bumpy Peanut Butter Nuggets

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
These were wonderful! I had everything but the apple juice so I used honey as others suggested. Not only did my 5 & 2 yr old love them but I did too! You can find unsweetened coconut- I thought I'd have to go to a health food store but my local Kroger had it! Great low sugar snack that we will make again & again. Thanks!

Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
WOW! This recipe was so odd I just had to try it and I'm so glad I did. I didn't have kraut but did grill some onions with my dog. This is how I'm making mine from now on. Oh, and I used low fat turkey hot dogs and low fat cream cheese- still good!

Cinnamon Popcorn II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I made this for my Twilight party (I wanted lots of red food) and we loved it. I didn't realize until I started cooking it that I was out of corn syrup so I used honey and it worked. I did take the advice of others and baked it. Mine took longer to crisp up; probably because on the honey. Kids and adults loved it! Thanks!

Baby BLT

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
These were a huge hit at my DD's bday party! It was Veggietales theme and I wanted as many tasty veggie appetizers as possible. I did use half cr. cheese as others suggested, and real bacon bits instead of cooking the bacon. I didn't have one left. Thanks so much!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

This was perfect! So glad you don't have to wait for it to rise. I used my stand mixer and it came together so quick. The texture was perfect- soft but crunchy too.Got rave reviews from kids and hubby. Thanks!

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
Very good! My kids loved it and I cut back on the sugar too. Very creamy and filling and versatile; we added chopped dates to ours. Make sure you stir constantly once it starts to bubble to keep it from sticking. Perfect for cold mornings. Thanks!

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Wonderful stuff! I can't believe how many compliments I received over such an easy recipe! I've made it with honey nut Cheerios too and it was even better. I shipped some to my bro-in-law in Iraq and he said it kept well and was his favorite thing that I shipped him. It makes a bunch so it's easy to split up into small treat bags or boxes and give out to everyone.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was good but even in a bigger dish there was way too much of it. Also took longer to bake. Tasted good but will halve the recipe if I make it again.

Pumpkin Cookies with Penuche Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
The frosting is what makes this cookie! I actually use a similar pumpkin cookie recipe from this site(because I don't like shortening) and used this frosting. I don't like pumpkin at all but I gobbled these down! I had to make another batch for the kids! This is our second year to make these.

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
Very good! I don't even like pumpkin but I like these especially with a penuche frosting from another recipe. Perfect! I cut the sugar down when I make them for the kids and don't frost them. They still think they're great.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
We love these! I have made them for 2 Christmases now and everyone thought they were cute and tasty. The kids especially ate them up. Use the tips from other reviewers on filling them. I have used plain and flavored cr. cheese and I love it both ways.

Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
These were perfect! I love fried green tomatoes but have had trouble in the past with them. I tried this recipe and one that called for cornmeal and this one is much better! The cornmeal was too gritty. These came out crispy and delicious. I did use lemon pepper I found in another recipe and it was great!

Cinnamon Coffee Puffs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
My family really enjoyed these. They were like a light, sweet biscuit but they weren't too sweet for breakfast. I give them a 5 for taste and how easy they were to throw together. We'll definitely have these again!
